I'm not basing my assumption on what the opposition fans sing. The 'same ol' Arsenal' chant was originally sang for us being cheats in a different way - for being too rough; of course that's not relevant for us now.
But certain stereotypes have developed in the last 10 years which have lasted to even now. e.g. Arsenal always play great football, and Arsenal are soft, foreign fairies that go down too easy. Both not true. Last few seasons we have played an utterly dull brand of football IMO.
And the second assumption is also not true - we have been heavily singled out for diving on a couple of occasions; Pires against Portsmouth and Eduardo against Celtic (which UEFA actually took action on before common sense prevailed). Last couple of years there has been little for the press on the play-acting/diving side but I still hear idiots in commentary with this out-dated idea that Arsenal can be bullied and we'll moaning to refs for little things etc. (Tony Gale seems to hate us).
Maybe it's no so severe now and I'm not saying we're huge victims or anything but I think we are still regarded as a team that 'go down easy'.
