I don't rate him because he's a pretty average player. Some Arsenal fans, seem to have a massively overblown opinion of him that is shared by nobody else in football (you know, fans, pundits, coaches etc.)
For the sake of fairness, I don't actually think he's crap as such, I just think he's quite average, in most areas of his game. He's not a particularly good defender, without being awful, and while he has tidy linkup play, he's not the biggest threat in attack either. He's a solid all-rounder, but not much more than that.
