Couldn't work that out at the time why he signed a deal. How long did he have left, 2 years? Even if it was 3 he'd have been in a great position to leave this summer. It seems clear his agent fucked him over.

In their position, with a new contract and significant pay rise offered, plus the fact that with a release clause, or what Liverpool tricked them clause, its fantastic to sign that deal. They have nothing to lose, pay rise offered and if Liverpool don't make it, they leave. If Liverpool make it, Suarez don't mind staying.

I can see why his agent desperately wanted him to sign the deal, but the way it is - if Suarez has beef with anyone it should be with his agent for accepting that clause. It clearly wasn't the player's wish.

I can see the logic, but in that case you make sure the clause is watertight. Suarez pays him a fortune to ensure as such. While I wouldn't be happy with Liverpool (who must have known full well why Suarez wanted that clause in there, and the intention on his part), I'd be more pissed at the guy I employ to look after my interest for not doing so.

Well according to The Guardian we

Suarez is understood to feel his relationship with Rodgers has completely broken down and is adamant there will be no apology as he feels betrayed by the manager over what he claims was a gentlemen’s agreement to sell if Liverpool had an offer from a Champions League club.

Suarez, 26, has kicked up a fuss in the past week, his attitude is annoying other senior players and his refusal to apologise leaves Liverpool with a huge dilemma.

He could still ask for a transfer and remains committed to legal action if his departure continues to be blocked

Could be true, could be complete invention - it's the big transfer story so I guess they have to keep it going.

Yeah, like I said at that time Suarez and his agent trusted pool too much after what they have gone through together during that difficult period.

Yep, especially when he is our last option, where no other top attacker is available in the market. I think we are as cornered as Liverpool is as well

As long as no one else gets involved, I'd say there's still a good chance that this will happen. Assuming Suarez continues to stink their club up

Yep it's looking more and more likely. Well probably make an improved bid with unrealistic add ons there never likely to recieve and they'll be able to accept it and save face a little because it will look like they got a better deal.
