I still dont believe we are actually in for Suarez. As Higuain is reportedly heading for medical in Napoli today we suddenly get very concrete and lots of coverage on Suarez deal. Its clear we are trying to scare Real by employing respectable sources (BBC) to cover this story very actively. If Higuain completes his move i expect to see sudden silence over Suarez to Arsenal and then stories about Madrid 'hijacking' our deal for him.

I see Suarez as our only striking target. I don't think we are THAT interested in Rooney, who is our last last last option.

Must be. Suarez makes absolutely no sense. We have spent so much time and money to build a brand and squad with a good PR image. Wenger is also a very resolute person regarding racism. I would be absolutely shocked if we buy him.

You are seriously overestimating how much Suarez will damage us, he won't. What he has done at Liverpool has got nothing to do with us when he joins Arsenal.

So we won't buy someone for PR reasons, but we'll very publically bid for them?

I was/am shocked too, both by us going for Suarez and the amount we're bidding for him, but some of the theories about why we're bidding for him are tin foil hat territory.
