i don't like dzeko at all. lumbering and awkward as hell. decent finisher though...

That describes Giroud well except the finisher part

Dzeko is like a good version of Giroud.

Dzeko isn't lumbering and awkward at all. He's class.

The best we can hope for is a player who is in grey area in terms of quality and popularity, players like Arshavin, Cazorla or Mertesacker.

Even if he had £800m at his disposal, Wenger will never pay £40m for a player, that's just not him. As we all know he likes finding hidden gems and turn them into world class players. That's why I think he refuses to join teams like Real Madrid or PSG because there he will be forced to buy box-office footballers. At Arsenal he has the luxury to do it his way.

Not entirely fair but still 😆

YES! £30m and 150k a week would tempt them maybe.

I'd rather Lukaku than Dzeko.

Not a chance Lukaku leaves Chelsea after the season he had last year.

Good shout Capi, both Torres and Dzeko were both pretty good once and you don't lose that forever, they probably need the right environment and opportunity to bring it back.
They don't come with any baggage and IF either became available cheaply we should pounce.

Dzeko would be fine as long as we spent big on the very best CM/AMs available.

Torres, hell no.

As we haven't actually bid for Torres as far as I know this is a moot point, but everybody would have said the same about Suarez before we actually made a bid for him, now you're all goose-stepping along.

Good players don't become bad players for nothing, theres usually a very good reason such as injury or personal issues or simply they're played out of position or they don't fit the team system- FFS Wenger has make a name for himself "rescuing" such players.

Hope Liverpool won't sell for less than £50m. That would be us out of this sorry saga.

Relax Rex, when push comes to shove I don't think Wengers fingers will actually let go of the cheque they've atrophied in the locked position.

I don't think so Gus. I feel rather confident Wenger is well capable of paying big money, both on a fee and wages, for the right player. It just sickens me that he found Suarez worthy of donning the Arsenal shirt. Disgraceful.

Still think we will smash our current transfer record this summer, by some margin at that.

This is what revolts me too, as I said I have accused Wenger of many things, some tongue in cheek but even I never thought he'd be capable of this.
Whether this deal happens or not is irrelevant, the important fact is that Wenger wanted a player like Suarez and after years and years of excuses for missing out on excellent players presumably because of lack of money he goes and does something like this- The man is a bloody disgrace as a manager.

Pull the other one. He's not my cup of tea; he's without doubt a bit of a prat and has done some stupid things, but he's not murdered anyone. Jesus wept. I'd rather not have him here, but I'd judge him on what he did in an Arsenal shirt if he did come.

To say it's disgraceful or Wenger's disgraceful for wanting to sign him is so, so over the top.
