About as good as Benik will get offered this summer I reckon. Would be looking for a good goal tally if he goes there for the season and stays fit. 15+ hopefully.

Just seen this about the German "wonderkid" Gedion Zelalem:

Heard about this Zelalem kid sometime last year. He's supposed to be a very good midfield prospect and was even presented a jersey by Arsene himself!

Currently resides in the States (D.C. I believe), but he should make the switch to London next year when he turns 16, and then we'll see more of him and what he's about.

Gnabry signs first professional contract

Young midfielder Serge Gnabry has signed professional terms with the Club.

The Germany youth international, who turned 17 earlier this month, joined Arsenal as a scholar from VfB Stuttgart last summer and enjoyed an impressive first season in north London.

Pace, strength and an eye for goal saw Gnabry net six times in eight games for the Under-18s, including a sensational debut strike against Crystal Palace. And the attacking midfielder was able to replicate this fine form at reserve level, where he made six appearances and scored twice.

Everyone at Arsenal would like to congratulate Serge on his first professional contract and looks forward to his continued progression with the Club.

(came as DM and still feels natural there - was always going to be no. 10 at Arsenal; some interesting things from within the youth group, other players, etc.)

Thought Olsson gave some good answers, came across as a smart young man.

Great to hear the Gnabry news. Hope to see a bit of him in the League Cup this season.

Zelalem really is rated isn't he? Hope he's worthy of it, would be great if we had another Wilshere-level talent coming through the system.

if he turns out to be a real player it could be the making of danny karbassiyoon as a scout, put him on the comolli path to more important jobs.

I'd say Gnabry fits that description myself.

Zelalem definitely sounds like a good mixture of technique and power. Can't wait to get a look at him.

Kind of hope Wenger commits to playing him at right back in the absence of Sagna (and any signing), but I know he'll play Jenkinson.

same. perfect player to kick jenkinson down the pecking order because there won't be any sentimental bullshit stories about how jenkinson is a lifelong arsenal fan and had his room decorated in arsenal swag and should be given a real chance ... yennaris was a mascot.
