Saying Arteta is Diaby's cover is a ridiculous statement as that would imply Diaby is an automatic starter which is simply not true. Song and Wilshere are the only automatic starters in our midfield and one of Diaby, Arteta, Ramsey or Rosicky will start based on form and fitness. I think the "Diaby starts when fit" myth exists from the time when he had Denilson as only competition for a place along Cesc and Song, but that's not the case anymore.
Now I'm not saying he won't be starting games for us, but he will have to get back to full fitness and get himself in good form to do it.
