I like how Thoral-Harper took that goal against Norwich. Good to see Özyakup keeping it up too. He's a very skilled player.

Klaus, have you seen much of the young Swede we signed this summer, Kris Olsson? Looks an outstanding talent.

No, not a second. I know someone who supports the team Olsson was picked from though. He wasn't happy about losing this guy. I've seen people liken him to Anders Limpar but it might just be because Limpar was so untypically Swedish. He seems like a very good talent at any rate, but you have to be if you come from a nation full of cloggers and get picked up by a club like Arsenal.

He's very classy. Not really similar to Limpar, more a Barcelona sort of player. Great technique and touch in tight areas, great awareness and a lovely passer of the ball. A real Number 10. One to watch out for.

That pretty much sounds like Limpar to me. 🙂 He was a bit wasted on the wing in the Graham era. Undoubtedly a great player but so many balls went over his head. He would've been even more appreciated today when our football is played along the ground. One of the finest technicians to ever emerge from Scandinavia.

Didn't really know that mate. I know my Dad loved Limpar, but I'm not sure I ever saw him play. Always thought of him as a speedy winger.

Anyway, you'll love Olsson.

I've heard a number of Arsenal players from early 90's describe Limpar as the most talented player they ever played with.

On the subject of old players, who can name the most players on my lucky scarf that I've recently re-found? My Mum made it in 1979 for the Cup final, she was a home and away fan for a few years in her teens, it has all the players who were in the squad then on it.

Found it the weekend of the Sunderland home win when I moved house, so you can thank me, or the magic scarf, for our recent results. It pretty much guarantees trophies. 🙂

There's about 20 players on it.

Seventh goal in eight games for Watt. I wonder if we'll see him in a sub appearance or two anytime soon.

Can't see it myself. He just lacks too many things in his game to a high enough level to make it here, and so won't be given the chance.

Hope he finds himself a good club soon. He'll be 21 in February.
