my bet is that we did actually go for Higuain, but Madrid wanted more money/used an opportunity to make more money (and, given the result, I think we rightly backed off).
I also think we really are interested in suarez (we=the club), which I didn't believe at first.
I wasn't impressed with Bernard yesterday. Was way better in the confed's cup. He did have that crucial assist, but also revealed many negative sides I haven't noticed before (fragile both physically and mentally - doesn't bode well with his 163 cms coming to the PL), not particularly smart (though he did try to play in almost every corner of the pitch), and, from what seemed (I'm aware of it being just one game) he might not be relishing the big games. Anyway - could just have been a bad game, and none of this really is characteristic.
