as for van persie, he was a striker soon to turn 30, who'd just had his first injury-free season in years. he would have, at most, 2-3 opportunities left to play a meaningful role in a title-winning club. he understandably felt he had to leave that season, no matter what. he'd given arsenal the 8 years of his prime. how is that f*ing the fans?
