There are Loyalists and there are Apologists. Loyalists I have no problem with, I may disagree with their stance but I respect it. Klaus, Rohit and Jazz I would say are loyalists, Capi just disagrees with everything so I never know if he's jon a windup or if he's serious when he posts. Apologists for me are people who don't seem to have a mind of their own or the courage to follow their convictions, they are sheep, make excuses and blame everybody else but Wenger, they hide when things are rough for Wenger and pop out when we go on a streak of wins or qualify for 4th, they are the flip floppers, sometimes they may reluctantly even call for his head when things are rough because that's the prevailing sentiment but they revert to type once the rough patch eases. For them there's always someone else who's at Fault, one player or the other, Stan, currently Gazidis is in fashion.

Even though i am settled in wanting Wenger gone, i think i and those wanting him to stay are and will always be in the minority. Flip flopping is normal behavior for all fans and simply broad brushing everyone into 2 groups is not scientific at all and goes against the grain of the old saying "People are individuals, not types".

Disagree with this to be honest, I think this is just something you've picked up on because of a couple of those Arsenal Fan Talk video segments.

Gazidis is the type of guy some fans will (perhaps rightly) be wary of. He's a polished performer who almost never speaks his mind - good in business, but a bit of a wet fish otherwise. Of course he takes a bit of the flak that could go to Wenger, but perhaps he should since the financial side's clearly a a joint effort and the two men are increasingly close associates.

Anyway, today will bring us some closure on Egg-Man's recent performance. If his big noise at the start of the window was for real our pockets will be at least 50m lighter at the end of the day.

I respectfully disagree Burnsy, it is established beyond doubt that there are significant sums in the region of 50-70M to spend, Gazidis said so Swiss Ramble said so everyone says so and most tellingly Wenger does not deny it, and we actually had a bid of 40,000,001 rejected.
I don't know if you're playing devils advocate or not but you come across as a bit of a Wenger apologist lite recently.

They should divide the subjects into two groups- People who divide people into two groups and those who don't........

On a serious note though absolutely you are right ! those interveiws have been revealing it buttresses my experience here and when one speaks to real life Arsenal fans....always someone else's fault, always deflecting criticism from Wenger,, like Wenger is a victim, before it was money, that's gone now theyve turned to Gazidis or tim payton or whoever. The irony of Wenger's brainwashed comments is that he's right...and he should be glad they are!

So what does everyone make of Wenger/Gazidis/Stan at this point?

There's no doubt that Wenger played with fire- in fact, he walked into a burning Waitrose, picked up a couple chili con carne dinners, a super nice filet of beef, but picked up a few minor burns on the way.

Call me skeptical, but I don't think this transfer was as simple as 'Wenger wanted Ozil, and pushed to get the signing done.' This transfer was most likely contingent on the arrival of Bale, and it's safe to say that Wenger wanted Ozil- we bid for him when he was at Bremen, after all. However, part of me thinks that this wouldn't have happened if someone upstairs didn't tell him to spend some money.

It's a good sign for kroenke. Got to keep making sure sign this calibre of player though.

That's another thing: I'm worried this deal will end up being similar to the Arshavin signing- hope that changes are underway in our transfer policy, then more disappointment
