I do agree with Wenger on this point though because we have less resources and keeps to a wage structure. We have been spending far too much on useless fringe players and I would rather have more quality in the 17 players. If we had done this earlier we would have been able to pay RVP what he wants and keep him here. Our structure is shambolic from 2009-2013. Finally we are going through a makeover this year discarding all the deadwoods, but so far we haven't been adding the promised quality.
I think it is very clear we don't have a plan this summer. We wanted a quality striker because Giroud wasn't good enough, so we went for Higuain. When we almost signed him, we realised Suarez is available with a clause so we gave up Higuain and went for him. Then when Suarez failed, we went for Benzema and when that failed we tried Michu. Now we have no strikers left to sign, we are stuck with Giroud for the season which is doomed to be a failure.
We wanted a tough tackling midfielder to provide us something different. We wanted Fellaini but bulked at the price, then we showed interests in Gustavo but didn't want to pay 12m euros. By coincidence Flamini started training with us and he is on a free so why not?
There are so many examples of how we failed this summer. Wenger said we won't panic buy, but all his targets reeked of panic buys because the window is coming to an end and we failed for so many players. I don't know which part of our staffs are at fault though, thats another discussion.

He really is overrating his own players. 😆 Ridiculous statement to make for Rosicky. I love Tomas but there really is no one out there better?
There is nothing we can do in these 48 hours to make our summer a successful one already. We failed throughout. Every single one of Spurs signings would have improved us. We need a defender (right or central), a AM/WF and a striker. 3 quality players within 48 hours. Not possible. Ideally it would be Uchida, Di Maria and Kaka though, beggars cant be choosers. Like Wenger said, we are being offered 50 players a day given that the whole world knows we are in the market, so there are bound to be alot of rumours when we even showed a little interests in those players, so it will be utterly frantic till the deadline and I hope we don't make the wrong choice.
