a number of things to note,

When you have been part of a losing setup for too long you become a loser yourself. A new manager could help reinvigorate/reorientate some of these players but I am working on the assumption that most of the players we have and indeed those you highlight above will not be part of the Arsenal starting 11 the next time we win the EPL for different reasons, age, not up to scratch, up to scratch but impatient etc. Which leads to the next question, how much will we need to get players to fill those spots and how much will we get for this lot. I don't see any of our players that is currently worth more than 20m in part exchange, partly a reflection of their progress/regression under Wenger and partly their actual talent level, which means we are likely going to need a lot of spending over 2-3 seasons to become title winning contenders.

This squad is threadbare. The best indication is that none of Barca, Real, United, City, etc came sniffing around for players. For the first time, we don't have players who would improve the big teams. This is the damage I predicted 3 or 4 years ago.

A new manager should not be expected to win immediately. But I'd rather see a new guy given, 100, 60 and 60 million for his first three years and spend that with a clear squad-building plan, than see Wenger continue to throw money at his monstrosity.

Ivan nor Stan put out a defence that looked unable to play above the level of a few mates from teh pub, neither did they force Arsene to have a season yet again where the only defensive mid player is a former attacking midfielder.

The blame rests solely on Wenger for what goes down on the pitch and he seems at this point to be a man trying to get sacked who has lost the plot completely, the level of incompetentce shown this summer is staggering as is the fact that the same mistakes are being made over and over again. Any fan can tell you them, poor GK, terrible positional defence and no understanding of off the ball defence for the midfield.

Most of these issue have been here for over 5-6 years now and nothing looks to be done other than to hand more control to a guy who is already struggling to deal with the role(s) he currently plays. Arsene has to go and I cannot see him staying after this debacle.

Not hearing much about that new contract are we though? In fact if the media really want to get o a wind up they should write that story as it will blow up like a pipe bomb.

Ivan's talk at the end of the season to fan's groups laid it bare at wenger's feet, "he decides the player but that doesn't mean he will spend £X million just for the sake of it". The club will hang him out to dry at this stage as we have the resources now more than ever and he still refuses to play the modern game.

one can only hope that the pain will end soon. It's not even about trophies, it's that feeling of having no hope, nothing to look forward to.

Scraping win over two legs and a shit vitory at fulham and they'll all be singing "one arsene wenger" at the tottenham game. Everyone can see he has fallen from grace and any result we get this season will not change that , whatever arsene does someone else could do it better as his standards drop season after season for the last 5-6 years minimum.

Where we are right now, there is probably enough time for us to get a new manager and let him sign the new players in whatever time is left.

No, Rohit. Do things properly. Scout a manager for the end of the season and cut Wenger's available budget. Why rush into a manager and last minute signings now? Wenger's inertness over the summer means that this season is already lost before it starts. It would be unproductive to throw someone into this mess.

As Lagos said: We're all Arsenal fans, none of us like seeing the club a laughing stock.

Agree with Claudius, Steve Bould should take over for the time being, we know how to wait.

The club will not be able to move on unless we get rid of Arsene, he is too deep in to see the bigger picture and maybe if he was just restricted to managing then it would be OK but he isn't and I can't see them being able to take responsibilities away from the lunatic.

That performance was as great a shambles as the swansea game yet it doesn't surprise you anymore as we've become used to this sort of thing happening, and when we have hardly any players in the squad and the ones who are there just are game ready we are bound to have a shit game and drop points, how can the club let this be the case? Whats been going on fro the last 3-4 months in terms of planning for this season?

The word NEGLIGENCE is the only thing that describes this club at the moment.
