What is 30 pence to you Tony? Next time you go buy a 50p packet of crisps make sure you offer 80p, wouldn't want to be cheap now would we.
😆 You've obviously never negotiated a bigger deal than buying a packet of crisps.
Wenger should give you a job on our transfer team.

The bid was to test the release clause?
We already had some indication that it would not automatically oblige Liverpool to sell?
So wheres the follow up bid?

It's not.
Clearly we haven't covered ourselves in glory in this window but this obsession with the plus £1 is just weird.
I get that it sounded funny, I thought myself originally that it was a joke report, but given what's happened subsequently I think I understand why we made the bid.
I just don't get why people believe that if we bid £43m/ £44m that the outcome would have been any different.
It was all about testing that clause.
It's like there has been a collective mind fuck because Liverpool got upset.
Who gives a shit about a quid? The 40 m other nuggets are the crux of the matter.
It's not just the 1 quid, that was just to illustrate my point.
In their haste to defend Wenger people have have focused on that and deliberately ignored the other half of my post ie that we didn't even bother bidding for Higuain.
I maintain again that Wenger had no intention of paying 40M for a player.
And I doubt if he has any intention of paying 20M for a player.
