Yes all this is Wengers fault, the fact that we are now just a safe solid investment that doesn't need large investment is why we're in the clutches of the likes of Kroenke and Usmanov- A plague on both their houses!
This is not a "reliable and self-sustaining system" it depends completely on Wenger getting the most out of crumbs and when he finally goes it will crumble.
If it wasn't for him we'd him we'd almost certainly have been bought by someone who would have had to invest heavily in the club because like it or not football is now the sport of kings and the rest are nowhere.
On the football side Wenger has never proved himself a great tactician, he inherited the best defensive unit in England and had access to a golden generation of French players, he's too ideologically inflexible to deal with each new situation as it arises and when faced with the best tacticians in the world in the CL he has consistently failed.
If it had not been for Wenger we could of ended up like Liverpool, spend a lot of money and a few cups is all they have to show for it and their fucking history which they won't fucking shut up about. Now they need a bigger stadium, major investment in the team just to make the Top 4 let alone challenge. Spurs have invested millions and not got into the Top 4, this time next year they will have a new stadium to build & finance and if they don't make the CL they could be making £100mill less than us a year.
We would of been bought and had major investment? That sounds like a pipe dream Biggus. Nobody tried to buy us before we moved, Chelsea & Man City were clubs teetering on bankruptcy before their saviours came in, picked them up on the cheap and invested their millions. That is like me being angry at my wife for not letting me buy the lottery because I think my luck would of been in and I would of won it today, all a bit far fetched. It is like a kid trying to rely on their rich parents to get by, that is not the way to be and a few cups won by a billionaire backing us might be your idea of a good thing but short term success should never compromise long term stability . The elite clubs in the world are all self sufficient, just look at the finances of Man Utd, R.Madrid, Barca (though a lot of debt and new stadium needed might restrict them) and Bayern Munich. That is the level we should be aspiring to reach, with a sound structure behind us and constant investment in the team over the next few years I don't see why we shouldn't be able to move up to that level. What happens when the Sheikh and Russian get in trouble or not longer want to pump their money into those clubs, they are fucked that is what happens. A club should be able to stand on its own two feet, it might be the more painful route to take but it is the correct route.
As for Wenger yeah he has his flaws, the Man Utd fans were screwing at their manager for his lack of tactical skills in the last few years. I'd say a lack of quality players is down to Wenger not competing against the best coaches rather than just merely tactics. Rafa Benetiz is a fantastic tactician, maybe we should bring him in? Then have a person like him waste millions and leave when he stops getting more money, then have him blame everyone else apart from him for the clubs failings. Or maybe Mourinho, walks into clubs with millions and either gets out when the time is right or leaves after falling out with everyone. We have got a manager who sacrificed the best years of his managerial career while the likes of Bayern Munich & Real Madrid chased after him. He stayed here to finish off this project of transforming this club head to toe. I've not heard a single person who I'd class as an expert in football call for Wenger to go, most other people higher up in other clubs all praise the work he has done. Football fans are fickle and want things now, unfortunately that isn't the way life works. We have no divine right to win trophies and I'd rather be in our position than most other clubs.

We finished 16 points behind the title winners, I think in the next season our aim should be to reduce that gap by at least 10 points.
We've been hearing that for the last 7 years, enough is enough.
No we haven't, for the past 7 years we have had to leave Highbury, self finance a new stadium, had to completely rebuild our ageing team and during the process had some of our best players picked off. During this time the commercial deals we have had to sign up to fund the stadium have held us back severely. Now those deals are up and the new Puma & Emirates deal alone are set to bring us close to £50mill a year. You look at a lot of clubs who want to increase their revenue and everyone is looking at how we have done things as the benchmark, you can't just sit here praying some billionaire will whisk us away to land of glory.

He has also helped the club build a world class training facility during his time here, something which is easily overlooked.
