The objection I have is using it as a stick to beat Arteta and not the team.
When the simple question is, have Arsenal been bossed in most of their appearances against teams of equal or higher repute? It's a simple question and the answer is yes.
Genuinely, what are you talking about? Are you actually incapable of seperating individual performance from that of the team?
If Arteta got bossed or went missing then that is what happened. Why is that so hard to understand and why do you keep looking for excuses?
Who is looking for excuses, I've not disputed any argument that Arteta hasn't been good enough in certain games. However the argument is, this is hardly a fault of Arteta alone, it is part of a much wider team issue.
This started as a discussion about the need to replace Arteta, my argument was that this was the least of our concerns, and the fact that Arteta and the team as a whole got 'embarrassed' in big games, does not dispute that argument. So the point is, the need to point out Arteta didn't turn up in 'big games' is mute, when the whole team doesn't turn up.
Address the bigger issues as to why the team doesn't turn up and then we can look at why Arteta doesn't and then we can have a respectable argument of replacing our most consistent and reliable player, arguable most important player.
