I remember that time the super reliable AFCAMDEN saying Sahin had photoshoot done as well. Everyone was quite shocked and disappointed when we pulled out of the deal.

In hindsight I don't think it would have made much difference. Although we would definitely have used him better than Liverpool did.

Short term, no, but if we had a buy option at the end of the loan I think it would have been great. Perfect replacement for Arteta, though I get the feeling he still wants to make it at Madrid.

He's at Dortmund for another year and it was implied heavily that they have the option to buy too.

You said everyone was "shocked and disappointed" that we didn't get Sahin. An awful lot of people were neither.

I was more preoccupied by the fact that we'd sold Song without really replacing him at the time. And up until we went on this gritty, fortunate run it seemed like a fucking stupid thing to have done.

Anyway, not a big deal Clarence. Might even be a quirk of the way you express yourself in English. Just you do it a fair bit- "we all thought this", "everyone wanted that" etc, and being a narcissistic freakazoid I feel compelled to chime in when actually, errr...I didn't think or want this or that.

Fair enough. I do realise I tend to generalise things with my english, maybe need to find a better way to be specific. What I meant was that iirc people weren't happy we missed out on him.
