They don't even have to be world class, just serviceable. A striker who can finish, a midfielder who can...erm...midfield.

I would sell Theo if the opportunity arose too, but I didn't want to delve too far into fantasy.

I would love us to sell Theo too. Already feel as though his contract is a bloody millstone around our necks.

Anyway, don't think we'll make a big attempt to bring in even 3 serviceable/good players.

I'd take the return of Alex Song, the acquisition of Jovetic, sell Vermaelen on for a new CB and replace anyone else (eg Sagna).

That'd leave us able to rotate Ramsey, Song and Arteta, with competition and sanity in central defence and the captaincy issue resolved, and a forward line that isn't all second-stringers.

That's really only one star and one prodigal son who's surplus to requirements at Barcelona.

Selling Theo would be fine—half the point of re-signing him was to shore up his transfer value.

I fear that we'll bring in exactly one player of limited worth but I am holding out hope.

I'd keep Theo, if nothing else I think we need stability. Wenger just needs to drop him when he's playing crap.

We would be paying him to play about 10 games a season then.

we are very far from challenging.
we need two world class forwards - a number nine and someone who can be a scoring winger.
we then need a bit more steel in the centre.

those 3 players are probably about 60 million pounds in outlay if we buy properly. we can partly finance by selling our scrubs, but how much would we get back? we need at least 30m pounds net spend. is this team willing to take that size hit?

Our squad is quite good, and with 2-3 good signings we could definitely challenge, on paper...

Our main problems are tactical, poor coaching, and poor motivation in my opinion. New signings won't remedy that unfortunately.

I have good time for Theo but I'm beginning to see his staying as an issue these days for that exact reason.
He cannot stay fit and he is woeful for at least a month when he comes back.
I'm sort of hoping that the reason we signed him up again in January was so that we could sell him for more in the summer.
Unlikely though.

Striker, Arteta like midfielder and wing forward, in that order.

Obviously hoping for big tings but I'd settle for

An athletic dominant centre back (nkoulou), a nimble quick footed midfielder (clasie, cabella) and a striker (remy)

How many points do you think a world class striker and midfielder would be worth to us y va?

I'd estimate between 9 to 15 points, which would be enough to turn us into contenders.

Top striker and midfielder would get us nine extra points minimum I reckon, if they were really of the highest level that is.

Giroud, on his own, has cost us 15 points by my last count and we still have four 'easier' fixtures to play.

Any news on the appeal?
He needs to be taken out of the equation before he costs us more

Fuck it; Isco, Jovetic and Lewandowski or bust.

Isco on the left, Jovetic through the middle, and Caz on the right behind Lewandowski ?

You thinking along similar lines, Capi ?

Yes, that is pretty much it. Plus the options to change it up as necessary with the more direct Podolski etc.

That would seriously lack pace.

I haven't seen Isco though, but I haven't gotten the impression that he's quick.

Rejected 🙂
