I must say I am rather surprised Kroenke has kept the board more or less intact. Could be, as Capi has suggested, that a timeframe was built into his takeover regarding this. That time must surely soon be up... We desperately need another board.

I would like to see some sort of technical advisor to assist Wenger/new manager. Someone who knows their football apples and can keep Wenger/new manager honest.

That was a different era, anybody coming in now is effectively subservient to Wenger. I doubt Stan or Ivan have the balls to question him. I can imagine Ivan rehearsing his speech in his head many times before he makes a call to Wenger.

Well I'm asking for that attitude to change. First step; appoint someone to the board who knows their football and instruct Wenger to work with him.

instruct Wenger? 😆 That's the problem, NOBODY at this club dare instruct Wenger to do anything! If they do and he doesn't fully cooperate, nobody has the balls to do anything. We are talking about a board that has told him he has a job for life, a board that not for the first time telegraph they are keen to extend his contract despite his failings long before it is due. Not for the 1st time it's Wenger that keeps them on tenterhooks re his contract. That kind of board cannot instruct him to do anything. The real power at the club is Wenger.

The only way we can get rid of Wenger is if he goes himself, and the only way that may happen is if the fans turn on him en mass he seems to be showing the pressure recently, and the fans will only turn on him en mass if we drop out of the top 4.....So draw your own conclusions what we need.

it's not about being qualified, you don't need to know anything about football to know when things aren't going well but you cannot keep a guy honest if you are afraid of using the stick.

Look Tim, Wenger is a monster out of control, nobody is his boss nobody can work with him as he brooks no interference or criticism, even Kroenke can't sack him without cutting his own throat- he has grown too big for the club.
When Wenger goes it will be by something external, then their house of cards will collapse.

Stop being so ridiculous. My suggestion is that we bring someone on to the board who understands football intimately, and can discuss it with Wenger/new manager on a technical level. Horrendous suggestion obviously.

And we're trying to explain that Wenger doesn't discuss anything about football with anyone except Primorac, he thinks he knows it all- his football philosophy is perfect and the explanation for failure is always something external that happens like the ref the pitch the other team "refusing to play football".
