Arsenal ready to offer £40m to lure Luis Suarez

it was nuts, but the ban was even more ridiculous. a nasty challenge (for example shawcross vs. ramsey) is far worse.

For sure, I agree

I don't know what Ivanovic said to Suarez but no matter how educated you are, no matter how many books you read, you can find yourself in certain situations where you simply can't control your violent compulsions, it's human nature.
A good example is Zinedine Zidane who is class personified and he just mentally snapped in the 2006 WC Final when he headbutted Materazzi.
Even Suarez didn't try to justify his actions!
It's ok Luis, I forgive you, you little retarded scamp you.
He's a despicable bastard and I will never condone his behaviour because he can kick a ball better than 99.9% of the human race. Fuck him and his gold plated overbite.
Prick could score a thousand goals and I won't celebrate a single one.
He's a top striker, and he's the most available-ish.
We're gonna get him, and you're going to love him y va.
Edit: You too Capi.

Don't sugarcoat it Capi, tell us how you really feel.
I think Suarez was the victim in all this.

Just wait until he scores the winner in an important match.

I hear you! Frankly i am surprised at the "support" he is getting here.
Didn't realise how desperate the supporters are for any decent player.
What if it's a last minute winner in the CL final and Santi smashes one in from 30 yards that grazes off his shin and he later claims it through the dubious goals committee? What then, huh? Huh?
After all the years of net spend profits or breaking even in transfer windows, are we really going to finally break that 20 million barrier, then even the 30 and 40 million barriers for a guy who is guaranteed to miss at least a third of each season through his own actions? And who starts of suspended for the first 6 weeks or whatever it is aswell? It was 10 games last time, what will his next one be? 15, 16?
Like I said earlier in this thread, we've got not success on the pitch or any genuine superstar players. The one thing we really have and always have had is class. Victoria Concordia Crescit "victory comes from harmony" and all that. Sign this guy and even that's gone, then what's left of our club? I guess it's just aswell it's not on the crest anymore.

He's a changed man bro.
He was the victim.

Then what? :hmm:
I genuinely do not give a fuck who against or what goals he scores. Why is that so hard to understand?
He wouldn't be scoring goals for himself as an individual, he'd be scoring them for the team and club.
Yeah, that's obvious. And then?
I said what I have to say, that's it. I'm not going to change my mind and a few piddly goals certainly aren't going to change it for me.
wenger is just taking the piss now if he decides to blow his wad on this despicable excuse for a human being.
Sign the cunt, get the deal done Arsene. Sign Rooney too.
Those 2 are comfortably the best players on the market. We shouldn't waste a dime on limited players like Higuain.
The Mancs have won trophies with loads of cunts in their team but they are still well thought of all over the world.

And then? just want to see where youre going with this strict stance of yours. What if he beats three players and purposefully deflects a shot off a defender and in to the net, technically an own goal but all the players rush to Suarez and basically credit him with it? Celebrate or no celebrate?
I'm not going anywhere, my stance was quite clear; I will not support Suarez in any shape or form. I won't celebrate anything he does on the pitch and should he, against all odds, win us something, it will be tainted in my opinion.
I'm not bothered if others feel differently, but I would appreciate if they didn't attempt to tar me with the brush of "well, once he starts scoring goals...". No, that isn't my world.
He doesn't have to be my friend, but I would sooner not have even the most tenuous link with him.

So if Suarez scores a last minute winner in the CL final, you wouldn't celebrate? Not even a little bit?
Ok, that's cool. Just trying to get my heady around this "non celebration" thing. Do you mean it literally "I will not celebrate a Suarez goal", sit there while everyone else goes nuts, or in some sort of wider sense?
Tim, you've slipped into Socratic gear again.
This whole "it's just football, it doesn't matter what sort of characters the players have" line is a bit dodgy.
People ignore only what they're comfortable ignoring, and not everyone is capable of ignoring the same things. Lots of people played down the significance of Bosnich's Nazi salute to the Spurs fans too.

Plenty of questionable stuff in this vid, yet we all love them.
We've had loads of players do stuff like that, remember when we used to train with 10 men as match prep?
You're assuming that everyone shares your views on what will or won't be lauded?
As Bw pointed out we ignore what we're comfortable ignoring but not everyone is capable of ignoring the same things.

You've witnessed similar types of beaviour and seen the person involved change profoundly for the better?
With Suarez we're not just dealing with someone who is rude or socially inept.
So would elbowing someone, stamping on someone (Dennis?) or spitting on someone (remember Vieira?). The whole biting makes him more strange and bizarre than most of his counterparts, but not a great deal worse. It's not like he actually took a chunk out of them. The fact that he tried to be sneaky about it tells me there was a fair deal of control over it.... i'm not sure if that makes it better or worse mind you.
In terms of change, I have seen it. Plenty. Whether Suarez can listen to instruction, for his own good if nothing else, is anyone's guess, but you can't say for certain one way or another.

Nah, really? Again?
Look, my outlook is fairly simple I think. I may not like everything about every aspect of the club (or football for that matter), from players to directors and beyond, but I take my enjoyments and meanings where I can and try not to get too worked up about the things I can't control. So if Suarez comes, I'll live on the good and deal with the bad.
Sort of Nietzschean, if you will.
You spelled Nietzschean right so I'll pay that Tim.
Or Zen; An older student came to Otis and said, "I have been to see a great number of teachers and I have given up a great number of pleasures. I have fasted, been celibate and stayed awake nights seeking enlightenment. I have given up everything I was asked to give up and I have suffered, but I have not been enlightened. What should I do?"
Otis replied, "Give up suffering"

If you do not already see the bitings and racist abuse as being far worse than anything Viera or Bergkamp did then I don't think anything I say will change your mind.
We've seen the same footage and heard the same reports.
To me it's clear this is a nasty, flawed, destructive indivudual who will cause trouble wherever he goes.
I never included the racism, I said biting. It's an act of violence with a similar (potentially milder) result.
I've said a few times that I don't care about the biting or the diving (my stance on the latter has been consistent with any player, Arsenal or opposition).
It's almost exclusively being associated with a player found guilty of racist abuse that gives me my reservations about signing him.
