i get it, you're trolling.

None of you are wrong, but you are talking about winning the title and Dula is talking about winning the prize or 3rd place which i think is more realistic.

I'd be delighted if we got Suarez, but it would be a shame if our first big name signing that we've all been waiting for is someone most despise and a large percentage are dead against us signing. Still don't see it happening mind you.

And suspended for the first 6 games lol.

His first league game would be in October!

Bearing in mind how card-happy refs are with us, the man may not play more than 30 games a season as he will almost be guaranteed a yellow or two per game for simulation and general cuntery.

Wenger and Gazidis out! :gah:
It is not a real bid though. Only to entice Madrid to go for the racist so we can get Higgy...

Not just that but, what will happen when he loses it next time? 15 games? The penalty for biting Ivanovic was ridiculously long and it will only be worse next time.

I would seriously find it very difficult to cheer for an Arsenal team with Suarez in it.

agree, he just would not fit in here at all.

You guys say that now but when he starts banging in goals you'll look past his personality.

of course they will. that's what makes it so funny.

Thank fuck we have the two of you to tell them what to think.

Genuine comment. How would they know if crockett and tubz weren't there to help them?

it's true tbf. a couple of months of goals and decent behaviour for the arsenal, and for most gooners it will be as if the past didn't happen. it's the nature of fan culture these days.

i for one will still be disgusted. :hat:

You would think there weren't Liverpool fans who loathe him the way some of you are talking. 🙂

You can always guarantee a healthy constituency of uptight wowsers.

It's possible that we might come to accept his goals and assists but still loathe him for the nasty creature that he is - if he's true to form he probably won't wait around too long before dragging us through the mire and forcing the club to defend, or put a spin on, some vile act or other.

It's a tough one, I'd rather not have to deal with us signing him.

yeah. We'd go like

"YESSSSS GET IN SON NOW FUCK OFF"

As an outsider, I can't see what he has brought to Liverpool other than embarrassment and tarnishing their reputation. I concede that wasn't all his own doing, but he has been the catalyst for two years now.

Maybe he has been class and yes, he scored goals last season, but the only thing about his time at Liverpool that truly stands out is him being an absolute dickhead who has consistently dragged a great and historically well respected club through the gutter.

Yes, though I'd give Dalglish at least half the blame for the blowback from the Evra incident. Totally clueless approach to the whole thing.

He was the real wrecker of the club's fortunes in recent times. Rodgers (dull though he is) is still in repair mode, but I doubt he'd be unhappy to see the back of Suarez for £40m.

Make no mistake the club let itself get dragged into the gutter.

The Liverpool fans that I know (the rest of my family 🙂) are dying to get shot of him.
My Dad despises him.

Dont forget this is a player that Wenger wanted Rex.
It doesn't matter how many goals he gets the first time he fucks up I'll be there like some raven of doom to remind everyone.

Wow, the bid was confirmed by Liverpool, can't believe our interest is real :o

He's a sensational player, and I think we'd all give him far more slack should he score bucketfuls for us. It's also not beyond the realm of possibility that he'll grow up a bit under Wenger like some of the other dickheads we've signed.

That's the Hollywood version - I think maybe some are underestimating just what kind of a f*** up of a person we're dealing with in Suarez and are overestimating the influence Wenger can exert on a player who, for no apparent reason, sinks his teeth into opponent's necks.
That's not the type of behaviour that can be sorted or controlled with some mythical Wengery guidance.

i always feel that players like suarez have to behave like animals to achieve their highest level on the pitch. that aggression and nastiness gets him going. if he tried to act level-headed it would inhibit his play. that's my ludicrous pop psychology take on it.

For those of you who want Suarez, do you fear that he might want out again in a couple years? Because to me he seems like the type of player that will pull something like that, and I doubt we'll be able to get anywhere near the 40m that we might pay for him.

If we're going to drop that much on a player(because I don't envision this happening every year) ,I want someone that will be successful for us for at least three or four years. I just see Suarez as the type of player to bring more baggage than he's worth.

Bit like Rooney.

Stringing this dodgy quasi-evo-psychological train of thought along a bit longer, don't you think Rooney seems to flourish much more when he's the big star and receives all the plaudits and positive reinforcement, rather than when he engages Hulk mode?

I'd agree that his competitive dark side's a drawback that's part and parcel with his superior aggression and motivation on the pitch though, and that definitely applies to Suarez as well.

He has confirmed this himself on many occasions.

And now Ayre has confirmed our bid too. Still, I don't see us having the resolve and the ruthlessness to actually close the deal.

Wow the bid was actually confirmed i stand corrected. It seems like we will be biting at the heels of Manchester United for the title this year.

I'd rather kick them in the teeth than bite them on the heel.

I have been banging this drum in this thread since he was linked. I would give him maximum 2 seasons before he starts courting Madrid and Barca on Uruguayan radio. No matter what we win.

Well, there's a lot of downside on this deal in a couple of years:

  1. He signs, he plays well and we win some things - he wants to leave after a couple of years because his proven gifts deserve a bigger stage.

  2. He signs, he plays well and we don't win anything - he wants to leave after a couple of years because his unrewarded gifts deserve trophies.

  3. He signs, he plays like shit or fucks up constantly on and off the field - we all want him to leave.

Even if signing him leads to trophies he'll still cause trouble.

Does anyone really believe that Suarez would be the catalyst that transforms us into title winners?
I don't.

No, but he might be the catalyst that wins us the League Cup. 😃

We actually bid for Suarez? For real? No joke? Honest?

Burnwinter wrote:

😆 Pretty much. Or Koscielny might fuck up in the dying minutes of normal time again and earn Asa's undying hatred for another four or five years. After Suarez has gnashed at Gerrard's pinkie in a tussle or something.
