If they can stay injury free, then they will do well, their lack of quality in depth means once the injuries come they will struggle.

If we can stay injury free - that dope doesn't even realise the injuries we already have.
Cazorla, Theo and Podolski scored the majority of our goals between them last season, we've played without them for the majority of our games this season and we still won those games.

Imagine if they were to be without Van Persie, Rooney and Hernandez all together for any length of time?
They're available at the moment and United are still rubbish 🙂

The IF is about long term.

We are doing ok now but we have had one test, Tottenham at home. we need to have key players fit through the times when we are playing 2 serious fixtures a week otherwise our quality in performance will wane. Don't get ahead of yourself here, we have lots to do and its just a surprise that we haven't managed to balls up too much so far outside of the villa game.

My point was we already have plenty injuries, we're already playing mid week games and we're still winning.
United with their allegedly superior squad just lost at home. To West Brom.
City lost away to Cardiff.
They're slipping up afainst "weaker" opposition, we're bagging our points.

I'm not saying we'll definitely challenge (or notch up near 85 points) but reading around that forum, they are far too confident of finishing above us and in the top three (along with Man City and Chelsea).

I know it's early but 8 points is not a trivial distance to make up considering the relative form of the teams plus the players we have to come back.

On the united front I think every gooner is going to want to get a ticket for the old toilet fixture this year. Perfect chance to exorcise some demons from there over the past few seasons.

Tbf, most of them wanted us to win the title in the premierleague matchday thread. They recognise that they won't win the title this season, so the next thing that can happen to them is Chelsea and City not winning

The other three have been in disarray because they all have new managers and many new players there was always going to be a period of "anatchy" so to speak.
We all knew that, thats why we were all so desperate for Wenger to strike while the iron was hot which he did in a very Wengerylike way by bringing in some kids and Matt on a freebie, but also Ozil in a very unWengerylike way.
So far bar the hiccup to Villa we have taken full advantage.
The real test will come when the injuries and fatigue take their toll and the rats start to gnaw their way back into it and our lead is cut down to a few points- Will we fold like we always did or will we hold on and beat them back.....For the first time in 8 years we have not just technical prowess but also plenty of serious experience and no wankers fatties and malcontent's (well only one), and this gives us cause for hope.
