And anyway we do need to beat the top sides, you can't just dismiss them by saying "they'll take points off each other" one of them (and remember it only takes one team to run away with it) might take a lot points.
Having said that I don't think anyone will run away with it this year, I think 1-6 will be reasonably close which makes the results from the 6 pointers massive and probably decisive.

11 away wins in a row now. I don't think the reserves Carling cup performance has much bearing on the regular starting eleven but it's a pretty nice statistic.

The best thing about this season so far, though, is that Spurs are enjoying their best ever opening to a PL season and we're still ahead of them in the table.

The run at the end of last season seems to have gifted us the ability of keeping things tight, even evident today. The opposition are forced to break us down rather than constantly being gifted chances.

I think we're not yet quite free of those Villa loss type games - but I do think we're highly unlikely to allow any loss send us into a downward spiral.

We recover well from losses and seem to just kick on

A PL win over City, United or Chelsea would really reinforce the belief that's grown within the squad

But 77 shots yielding 11 goals to their 105 for 5 🙂

We've been so clinical, Ramsey in particular.

classic spurs right there. they should've gotten a much better striker for that money. thank god, because a real 30m striker in front of eriksen, lamela and whoever would've been dangerous.

Soldado has always been underwhelming. Surprised they paid so much for him.

He's pretty Giroud-esque is my feeling after a couple of viewings, but a bit less intelligent.

It's the position from where they are taken.

A lot of our shots have been from central positions inside the box, spurs have had more shots from outside the box and wider positions.

Positions from where there's a smaller chance to score.

I think we underestimate Spurs at our peril. My respect for AVB is growing

the Cardiff result was deserved. They owned them for 90 minutes. Just failed to score in regulation time.
Defensively, they're solid. A lot of it comes from good midfield organization. They press more than we do
Lamela and Eriksen look the business. I am a firm believer in having a superstar (e.g., Ozil), but the Bale sale and subsequent rebuilding is some of the best business I have seen in football. They now have the depth that cost them 4th place last year.

Let's see how it shakes out in a few weeks, but I am starting to suspect that United and Liverpool could be on the outside looking in at season end.
