Guarantee he's retained (by the board) if we secure either 4th or the FA Cup (even with a fifth place finish).

However, there is a growing sentiment that he may walk away if we don't achieve either. That type of failure would require changes and he's the most likely target.

No way Wenger ever gets sacked. Even if we finished 5th and lost the Cup. He may resign however. But since he's "stacking paper to the ceiling" it would be hard to walk away from such money.

i agree, wenger will never be sacked.

we'll get 4th. our run-in in piss easy and everton's is diabolically difficult. i'm totally relaxed about it. it's the fa cup that i'm worried about, because wenger will get the tactics wrong, and who knows what the mentality of the players will be on the day.

I agree honestly and I'm still pretty pro-Wenger. Missing either would just be calamitous for the club, especially on top of these road results.

Wenger does what HE wants. Only he will have a say in it.

It depends whether that salary is enough for him these days. He is only human and you know that we would all take shit all season long for 7m. The oppo can sing songs about us, fans can unveil banners dissing us, the players can all sit down on the pitch .... you know we would all sit there taking 7m.

But something inside me think that Wenger is better than most of us and will do the right thing.

So after the exhilaration of winning the Semi I think that our Prize bid is on life support. We looked terrible. There's no way we win even 4/5. Basically I'm hoping for an Everton collapse.

Everton only need to win one of the two Manchester games in my opinion. They'll get points from Southampton (who are off form) and their other games.

Since Feb 8, if we'd beaten Liverpool, Stoke and Swansea instead of two losses and a draw, we'd be equal top of the league right now.

Or a million other combinations of scraping a draw or a win here and there. Poor results and near misses against United, Everton and City also stand out.
