I think we have a shot if we don't go all in for all four competitions. I just don't think we have the depth with these early season injuries to mount a challenge on all four fronts.

If we are lucky with injuries and have the squad fit through Christmas then may be. Else, depends on what the club does in January.

Wenger talks about how we can improve internally. The quickest way to improve is by buying in classy players but if some of the younger players start putting together good performances, then it changes a lot. Look at Ramsey and, to a lesser extent, Giroud. It's unfortunate Wilshere doesn't look close to replicating his 11/12 performances, and that Oxlade Chamberlain hasn't kicked on yet. Podolski seems to be out for 3 months. But for any title push, we need a top striker. The only player who is capable of getting 30 goals for the season for us now is Walcott. He's not top class playing out wide, but he's all about the end product. Just need to put him in a position where he only worries about finding the net.

I think we have an outside chance. But we have to be extremely lucky with injuries like we were the last time we won the league. Although obviosuly the quality of those players was leagues above the ones we have right now.

Another factor is that the other teams don't look very convinving yet although it's based on a smal sample of games. Moyes will likely struggle and Pelligrini is completely new to the league while Chelsea's lack of a top striker could hurt them.

But so could ours. And that's why I think it depends a lot on how Giroud's season pans out. It's criminal that we haven't improved on him. Put Van Persie in there instead of him and I'd say our attack would be up there with the best in the league.

I think we'll finish above Unied though.

That is our January/Next summer plan I feel. If we got one of them in Jan we could make a dark horse push. Right now we just need to keep the gap between us and first to around 6-9 points by January and we could then make some noise.

Rooney or Suarez won't move in January. Plus, I'm highly doubtful we'll spend 40M+ again in less than 4 months. We'll have to make do with Giroud this year.

Agreed. Unless we're going to see an injury crisis we won't move for a top striker before the Summer (i.e. 31st of August) and if there's an injury crisis it'll be stop gap solution as Ba was supposed to be.

Think we have a chance to push on, but we're looking at last year's squad plus Ozil.

In the real world that's nowhere near enough to make up the difference and win the title unless several of our players take massive strides, including one of Giroud and Walcott.

I just want to see us replicate the consistent strong form of the end of last season, take our chances and see where it takes us.

That's not how it works though Rohit.
We know Wenger prioritises and that's where we fall apart, a team runs on confidence and momentum it's it's life blood, that's why you'll find our title push running out of steam in the couple of weeks we're out of the FA & CL cups.
Things may have been going well up to then players are trying things because they believe they'll work we're difficult to beat because we're not used to losing we somehow find that last minute goal ala "Fergie time", then it all falls apart after a couple of defeats- The spell is broken.

I certainly understand the importance of positive momentum Biggus. I think we have ridden it for the last 3 weeks after Aston Villa despite having a thread bare squad. Even last season towards the end we rode a great wave of momentum.

It's a double edged sword though and I guess you are right, we might as well try and win everything irrespective of the condition of the squad.

I think managers do realize when the players' legs start to go deep into the season. It's certainly a challenge if the team is in contention for the title, the squad has injuries and the club is still in more than one competition.

Still think we're a bit thin to win the title, but I don't see top four being much of a problem this season. Given the way Chelsea and United look, second is an outside shot.

This surely has to be the best vibe surrounding the club in nearly a decade

Dont think we have all the peices of the puzzle in place yet personnel wise to take a shot at the title. If Wenger and Co. had made more headway with a top striker and a proper DM maybe we could challenge strongly. Ozil is a dream come true but sadly not enough done in the other two critical areas.

Ozil signing should plant the seeds for a title winning team, I think we should certainly be challenging next season, with another 25-30m+ transfer. We should win a trophy this season though.

i want to see a few more games before i make up my mind. we have improved in some areas and i am excited to see how we'll perform with ozil in the 10 role. i think we can see players like wilshere, cazorla and walcott really improving in the next couple of months.

It's great now as we can mix our style up more. We can go for a possession game with ozil combining with jack and santi or we can go mad on counter attack having theo Chambo and co running around ozil

Ozil is the best player in the world at slipping in runners

You know players love to play and win, they're unhappy at being substituted even if they're tired.
The players that don't want to play and don't mind being substituted (like Bendtner) i don't want playing for us.
