I don't get why this is rocket science.
Wenger should do everything in his power to sign a top drawer striker right now, even if costs £50m. It's hardly going to cost much less in the summer, we'd just have a far broader selection but is that what's most important, or winning a goddamn title?
Yes, we might compete again next season, we'll still have a strong squad. Or, any number of things might happen. Players may leave and not be replaced, or may pick up season-long injuries. I can't see how we could realistically hope to be better placed next year, but hey.
We're not in a position where title wins are inevitable if we keep building. Our opponents are too rich for that. Carpe fucking diem.
