btw, how does chelsea get away with having so many players on loan? i thought there were some sort of roster limits in place to prevent rich teams from just hoarding good players and loaning them out to the rest of the league.

FFP is a joke:

Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced their sponsorship deal with the Qatar Tourism Authority which will net the Ligue 1 champions up to 200 million euros a year.

Income from the deal, which will reportedly be retroactively paid back to 2012, is said to increase incrementally year-on-year through to a reported maximum of 200 million euros come 2016.

UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino said: "Everyone, including PSG, know they have to demonstrate [the deals] are without cheating and that will be submitted to panels.

"We have a regulation which speaks about fair value of deals and the fact that a related party cannot just inject money into a club directly or indirectly."

I'd be pretty damn surprised if either PSG or Monaco are playing in the Champions League next season. Staying on the side of "old money" clubs is easily the smartest business decision for UEFA. Pissing off Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea (yes, they have a competitive and legit revenue stream), Barca, Real, all of the Italian clubs and all of the German clubs in order to appease the global small fries that are PSG, Monaco and Man City doesn't make any financial sense. I imagine there would have to be money exchanged in the realm of 11 figures for that to make sense. Looking it up, the Champions League made about 1.34 billion euros in revenue for last season. If all of the teams that are pro-FFP decide to leave the competition then that all goes away. Global eyes aren't drawn to the CL to watch PSG, Monaco or Man City.
