Gotta laugh at the SSN presenter suggesting Chelsea put the Premier League on the map.

Isn't he just doing what we all would if we had a spare couple of billion?

Yep, that's what they said about Idi Amin as well.

I'll admit that at this time of year I ignore a lot of footy news, but I'm only just cottoning on to the fact that Hughes has been appointed at Stoke.

It's like they were desperate not to let their high standards of detestability slip or something.

Anyone seen Kevin De Bruyne play? A friend says he is gonna be a revelation in the PL. How do people rate him here..?

He is a fantastic player. In Kalas and De Bruyne they have 2 great talents to nurture. Whether Mourinho will give them any game time is a different matter though. Read that the dutch kid they sign Van Ginkel is a great prospect as well

Thanks! Next season should be exciting. I am looking forward to CL as well. After a long time many competitive teams.

😆 And Hitler was a vegetarian non-drinker non-smoker who was kind to children and dogs- Touche.

Great now we have to worry about them outbidding us too.

Everyone has been outspending us (transfer wise) for almost a decade. :hat:

Fulham are not the sort of club you buy to invest a huge amount in anyway.

Read an article that this new owner is quite brutal in his dealings.

Aren't this guys US teams terrible?

At the moment yeah.

They have the least numbers for fan attendance. That's why they have two London games this year. They're an expansion team.

Jacksonville Jaguars.

I think he just bought them, so it's a bit unfair to make any judgements one way or the other.

What will happen to the Michael Jackson statue?

It'll be melted down and turned into toys, so children get the chance to "play" with him instead.

So yesterday, the PL won blocking rights for live streams in the UK. Expect all of the big providers to block everything in a similar way to what has happened with torrent sites like the piratebay etc.

Hmm. I guess it's fine for the PL to protect their intellectual property rights, but not if it goes in hand with price-gouging, nonsense product bundling, and desperately inconvenient provisions for access.

20-25AUD a month for decent (say 720p) streaming access to English football and the CL, without being forced to subscribe to a bunch of cable crap, buy new hardware, etc, and I'm in.

Actually I'm probably in for plenty more than that, which is what worries me.

I would be well up for £20 a month to get a selection of saturday games every week. Probably £40 a month to be honest (£10 per week).

Probably wouldn't even watch that many, but I'd pay that in a heartbeat. Already pay a ridiculous amount for access to games that I barely have a passing interest in.

If it was VOD where I could scan straight to any minute of most matches from the past weekend or two and all the Arsenal ones, I'd probably be willing to go to about 50AUD a month straight up.

The thing is, though, when deals have come up here, they've been shit, incomplete and locked down to bad providers and limited technology. Setanta-i or whatever used Silverlight as the delivery platform, what a fucking joke. And other IPTV PL content here has been seriously weak on the performance and reliability front.
