As for Paulinho, no big deal as he would become yet another midfielder the spuds do not really need.

Gustavo really reminds me of Gilberto Silva. Think he could be extremely useful for us. Exactly the sort of player we need.

On Brazil, other than Marcelo (going forward anyway, he's laughable defensively) and Neymar, I don't really see any world class quality in that side. Lots of decent or good players, but they're lacking quality where it really makes a difference for me.

Btw - what the fuck was Thiago Silva thinking for Cavani's goal? Disgustingly bad defending. Didn't even look like he gave a damn afterwards either, he barely moved to block the shot. He's a very casual defender. And don't get me started on David Luiz - what a joke of a footballer. Can't believe the praise he gets. He'd get slaughtered by our fans if he played centre back for us. He's total crap. Koscielny is streets ahead of him, and better than Silva for my money as well.

Uruguay had left way too much of a gap between their frontline and their midfield. Their midfield was extremely deep and it was almost like they were defending with 8 men and hoping that the front three could get something. If they had played a little more extravagantly they would have comfortably beat Brazil.

Uruguay looked completely shot after 80 mins and there were no game changers available for them on the bench as well. Brazil look a team stitched up from talented rookies. Stranger things have happened but would not give Brazil too much of a chance next summer.

P.S.- Uruguayan keeper Muslera was a complete joke. Distribution was pathetic and was handing over possession back to Brazil almost instantly. 😐

Thiago Silva had 2-3 huge defensive lapses in the second half itself. Almost scored an own goal and allowed his man to get ahead of him during 1-2 corners and a FK. Brazil really need some experienced bodies in defense.
