Swansea's finances are in good order. They don't have a lot of motivation to sell at this point

Papers are saying it'll cost us £25m (or 12.5 Michus) to get Michu. I think that'd be good business.

Can't imagine Wenger paying even two Michus for Michu, let alone 12. If he can get Michu for 0.9 Michu, he'd consider it but transaction costs may push it over one Michu, which would not be good for us given the Financial Fair Play rules about to kick in.

Think we could possibly pick up Benteke at around that price.

Didn't want him but I'll take him now, I'll take anyone really.

Doubt it. I'd expect him to be an extra £8-10 and I think it'd take a lot more pressure to get him. Swansea seem to be happy enough to deal.

Considering how distorted Real, PSG and Monaco have made the market I think £25m ish for Michu would be a decent price if we can get it done quickly and cleanly.

It'll still be annoying given that we nearly had Higuain for £30m.

I'd rather top it up for Benteke to be honest. Younger and already as good.

Swansea already signed Bony, who scored at the weekend btw, so I can actually see them letting Michu go if the price is right.

Ergo, no chance for us to sign him.

in hindsight £30 mill seems like a bargain for higuain.

On hindsight though. I do remember plenty of people complaining that Madrid wants far too much for Higuain, 30m is a bloody joke. How times have changed.

Now when Swansea wants 30m for Michu, people would laugh it off too. Then when we are languishing in mid table in november, Michu would be a bargain.

£30m for Higuain was about right. £50m for Suarez was ridiculous though.

25M for the best player of a top 10 PL team this late in the transfer window when all the world knows about our crisis and riches sounds correct to me.

I would rather pay 50m for Suarez than 30m for Higuain all things considered.

Michu doesn't even play up front for fuck sake he plays as a support striker of a number 9, he is pretty terrible when up top on his own. Seems we are just throwing darts at premier league players now in some cluster fuck approach to player recruitment that makes a joke of this fine club.

Reckon Swansea won't sell us Michu, probably because we'll quake and retreat when they confirm the inflated price.
We're going to get ripped off now anyway, as regards who we go for, may as well decide who is the least likely to do an Andy Carroll

Just like after the 8-2.

Really? I was under the impression that Swansea got rid off Danny Graham so that Michu could play up top. Didn't affect his goal scoring record either.
