20m + wages of 150k and the deal is possible, anything above that, highly unrealistic.

Yes. It would be absolutely massive. Like Thermonuclear massive! NEVER GONNA HAPPEN

Sign this fat bitch. Please.

He also has lost his explosiveness and incredible work rate as of late. Not sure if that's due to his lack of motivation at United or just physical atrophy. Spunk the lot on Jovetic/Isco and a top name striker and I'd be much more happy.

I don't know where you get this that he'd cost the same as Cavani. Rooney wants to leave and reportedly they are looking for about 25m. Cavani was purchased by Napoli for around 18m. If they were selling for anything close to 25m half of europe would have bid by now. The reality is Cavani will go for 40m plus maybe 50m.

Rooney's going to command significantly higher wages anyway.

This would be one big fuck you to the likes of Chelsea. Need to do it if the troll is really on the move.

Why would Chelsea care? They can go out and bid anything for whatever striker they want in Europe.

Wages of 150k per week means he takes a cut of 100k per week?
He must really hate Robin.

Do you mean that the club should really make a statement of intent, like they did last year, and the year before and the year before and the year before........

Yes. Obviously that's exactly what I mean. Good thinking.

I'm not being sarcastic, the club really did make a statement of their intent last year.

I don't think that's what klaus meant. He means a positive statement of intent.

Mmm'kay

We'd have a very British team with Rooney, Theo, OX, Jack, Ramsey, Gibbs, and Jenks all getting regular playing time 🙂

Still don't think Rooney will happen though, I'd love it if it did, but I just don't see it.

Gooood old Arse-nal we're proud to say that name.

Firstly he's not leaving for money but because he wants to play. That's a good thing. Secondly players will come in for lesser money as long as they are in the bracket of the wage tier that they should be on. Do you really think when VDV moved to spurs he got the same money or Adebayor? Does Berba get the same money at Fulham that he did at United? A player who wants to play will take some monetary sacrifice. I am sure if we give United the RVP fee and a similar financial package and if he wants to play than this would be the best option for him. Bayern are stocked and I doubt their interest is real. PSG and Chelsea will put him on the bench if he doesn't perform and will have no problem replacing him. Here he will be a king.

According to who? Remember the last time Rooney and his agent had a dispute with United? He ended up with a new mega deal at United.

I've said for ages that Fergie doesn't want him, so no doubt his agent will fish around for a big deal somewhere. Only chance he'd ever come to Arsenal is if no other big clubs are interested. And even then, unlike Wenger, Fergie doesn't sell to domestic rivals.

Whats the matter with you people?

This is Rooney we're talking about, remember?
The fat little cheating granny shagging diving troll who had his pubes transplanted onto his ugly little scouse head.

If it's a choice between Rooney and Loic fucking Rémy it's a very easy choice.

Or even between Rooney and Higuain, or Benteke, or Jovetic, or Dzeko, or Lewandowski, or Cavani.

The last two are the only ones who could really cause debate, but I'd personally pick Rooney over both of them.

Thank you Biggus! At least someone is sane around here. Can't believe of all people it's you. 🙂

She's saying you're last person shed expect to be sane 😆

Don't let her get inside your head biggy.

Think there is still a wc player in there & he could find that form here.. to many obstacles for it to happen through..

Gotta agree with Biggus sometime I guess. Now is the time 😆

Errrm yeah this ain't gonna happen....

Reason tells me that.

My pessimistic nature tells me I'm going to have to start following Arsenal games on the radio next season. 🙁

I think he has has 3 years left on his deal. Why would it be about money at this point? If he banged in 30 and wanted money he would do this. With his haul and Robin over-shadowing him now would be the worst time to ask for more money from a negotiating point of view.

Fergie who? Moyes is the manager as I understand and if Rooney wants to come here then he'd rather sell him here than have a player who he sued. They are clearly not on the best of terms.

Sign him up! Bring in Tevez too. They already know each other's game inside out.

I reckon we could get both of them for less than 60m.

Eh? theres no choice we're not getting him.

Would be a brilliant signing. Quality player and a winner. Signing would instantly change the way the club is viewed too.

Don't think its as impossible as some seem to think.

I agree, I don't think it will happen, for the third time in this thread.

But in the highly unlikely event that it does happen, I would be delighted regardless of his history.

Seems like the kind of CF that could effectively play our CF role/position.

He's a granny shagger but I'll selectively forget about it when he's banging them in (goals that is);.

We have a squad full of players I can't stand seeing on the field but who seem like decent blokes off it. I'm not sure it would be a bad thing to have a player who works in the opposite way.

Sign him and Cesc, use the rest of our new moneys to fill in the gaps in the defense, and let the good times roll.

I didn't and don't think Rooney will go for anything less than 30 with 3 years left on his deal. I don't believe that Geoff fella for a second, he just loves getting hits and followers. I think with wages and fees combined, Rooney and Cavani would go for comparable prices. Regardless, I'm not even going to waste another second thinking about it since neither will happen. Don't want Rooney though.

Rooney has 2 years left. He signs an extension this summer or he's gawn.

And he's an unprofessional cunt who's losing his edge because he doesn't give a shit. If Fergie can't motivate him to take the game seriously who else is? If Mourinho gets him at Chelsea maybe he could be I'd sooner back a massive fall out there and Mourinho siding with the current players/his old mates ahead of Rooney. The chap maybe be talented but there is more to it than that. Whoever said he's a "winner" is only correct in the most literal sense. Yeah he's won things, he won them because Fergie dragged him over the finish line. And he never won shit without someone else there to do the heavy lifting.

That people are wishing this would happen is disgusting.
