In 2010 when he banged in 34 goals and won the player of the year award, for me he was definitely the third best player in the world. Obviously in recent times he is far off that standard but still one of the best strikers in the world.
From Moyes press conference
I've spoken to Wayne Rooney. Wayne is only 40 goals behind Sir Bobby and Denis Law. Wayne is not for sale - he is a Manchester United player - he will remain a Manchester United player. I have had several meetings. He has come back in good shape and is excellent in the training sessions. We are trying everything we can to get Wayne Rooney in a condition and state when he is more like the Wayne Rooney we know
Was a good sidestep.
Hmmmm
Rooney wants to leave and i think he will.
Either he's a ferociously good liar or he is indeed intent on keeping Rooney
Whatever happened before with Wayne, we are working together now. There is a glint in his eye now - he looks happy - as though he is going to knuckle down. I must reiterate, Wayne is not for sale
Rooney won't leave Manchester United, he just suffers from middle child syndrome. As soon as Moyes tell him that he still loves him, the whole team thinks he is a star and he will get extra dessert after dinner, he will be more then fine.
Are you guys actually watching or are you just reading online?
Reading. Don't want to watch that ginger on a sunny day.
Looks like Rooney's not going anywhere.
That sounds a bit like wenger before vp left.
What's your take then Skip?
My spider sense is telling me that Rooney wants to go and may force a move.
I think he'll be worked on by old men Giggs and Scholes, they'll give him love and fill his head with thoughts of being a legend. He'll stay because they won't sell him to an English club and he'd be lost abroad.
Don't know what's more disturbing, getting worked on by old men or appealing to the child in Van Persie.
What do you think, otf?
What do you reckon squalkid?

I'm glad you asked Pepe, and I realise my knowledgeable opinion is well sought after around these parts. However I don't particularly feel like going into the effort of answering your question at this time.
oft knows something, tell us dammit!
That's that.
If it were me I'd close the thread.
