Indeed. Its not like we wanted rid of van Persie.

People seem to be losing sight of the fact that this player they seem to think can come here and win everything for us isn't wanted by the team we need to usurp. There are reasons for that.

and you'd seemingly do the same for Jose Mourinho, a man with no affiliation with Arsenal or to it's success. I wonder which I'd consider worse.

No point in my being phony or contrived, to me he's a podgy knacker who in all likelihood will never play for us.
If as a result of some mind warping changes Wenger decides to sign him I won't be frothing at the mouth and heralding it as some moment of great shame either.
I'd just be more suspicious that United were pulling a fast one by offloading a potentially troublesome case who'd end up being a waste of big money.

Would any signing have you frothing at the mouth?

Honestly, there's nothing unusual about harbouring a fairly intense dislike for a boorish, uncharismatic key player for a much-hated rival.

I personally can't stand Rooney and whilst he continues to wear a Man Utd shirt or anything that isn't an Arsenal shirt, I will hold my irrational hatred of the man.

However, if said Ugly Cunt joined Arsenal and took us up a level and brought us closer to silverware, then I'm not going to feel guilty about it, cheer the team and gloss over the fact the once troll was a cunt and would now be our cunt. I personally don't care so long as the team is better for it, which we inevitably would be with Rooney.

What I find most amusing is, say you got your wish and Mourinho was suddenly manager of Arsenal, I dare say he wouldn't hesitate to bring Rooney in. How would that fit with your hero worship of the almighty?

At the moment, no, he isn't.

He was clearly better till the end of 2010. But, at no point of his career was he at the level of Van Persie's peak - not even in the season post Ronaldo's departure which was his best season, IMO.

But, despite that, I'd take him at the moment because I don't think he is that big a hate figure and also isn't damaging to our club's reputation like, say, Suarez. I despise a host of our former players a lot more than Rooney.

Heh heh maybe you do know me, maybe you and I are old chums.

Well its a bit of a long bow to draw, Mourinho is not Arsenal manager so we have no idea who he'd sign, he did bring some Portuguese players to Chelsea but he didn't bring any English players to Inter or Real.

Rooney is the best player that looks to be available this summer. If we were to sign him it would be the best thing for a long, long time that Arsenal has managed when it comes to player recruitment.

I don't particularly like Rooney, but he really hasn't done anything out of the ordinary, other than being a triffic player, to make me hate him. On the contrary, I actually like his game.

Rooney is better than van persie, the only reason they would sell him is because Rooney wants out. Rooney would be a massive statement of intent as well. Especially if he takes a pay cut to join.
