He would probably cost as much as Cavani and personally I think Cavani would be a much better signing and statement of intent. Rooney would frustrate me to no end with his position-less play. He also has lost his explosiveness and incredible work rate as of late. Not sure if that's due to his lack of motivation at United or just physical atrophy. Spunk the lot on Jovetic/Isco and a top name striker and I'd be much more happy.

Snap him up!

Rooney would be brilliant if he were fit, lean and desperate for success.
As it is he's lardy, out of condition and disillusioned - at a club where he's just won yet another title that pays him £250k per week.
What gives?

Rooney is one of the highest profile players on the planet, Cavani comes nowhere near I'm afraid.

Is Rooney the best we could do with ridiculous money in hand? No, he certainly isn't.

So you would rather have an unfit Rooney, who has been outplayed by he who shall not be named this season at United than a fit and firing Cavani, who has scored 36 goals in 41 appearances this year with far inferior service?

I agree with you that Rooney has the higher profile but I could give a rat's arse about his Q rating. Much more concerned about the tally under the goal mark. Add to the equation that Cavani is 2 years younger and earns way less than him at the moment and I think its a no-brainer.

That being said, we don't have a chance with either so I'm not going to get too worked up about it.

Sorry, brain is off today. Just realizing that you probably meant that Cavani is a better option but that Rooney is a bigger name. Please ignore if that is the case!

Is that what you read?

Cavani doesn't get far inferior service at all.

Cavani over Rooney obviously, and although I hate Roon I would love to do one over the Mancs.

My fault Captain- I definitely read your comments wrong although I would contend that Cavani gets inferior service to Rooney all day long.

talk about delusions of grandeur...

off topic, was wayne's world where TWSS originated?

World class vs £200k a week plus baggage.
No thanks.

No thanks, the money would be better spent elsewhere.

Geoff Arsenal ‏@GeoffArsenal 20s
I was told 6 weeks ago that Arsenal are interested in Rooney and Rooney is interested in Arsenal. Approx 20m. No idea about the wages.

Well then

Get a grip.

Indeed.

Another stupid thread......FFS we can't even hold on to the best players we have and people actually believe he'd go after that fat little cunt?

We don't buy Superstars we make them

We're a selling club now, except that there isn't anyone else worth selling.

I really hope this doesn't happen.

I don't know where you get this that he'd cost the same as Cavani. Rooney wants to leave and reportedly they are looking for about 25m. Cavani was purchased by Napoli for around 18m. If they were selling for anything close to 25m half of europe would have bid by now. The reality is Cavani will go for 40m plus maybe 50m.
