Rooney can't speak any other language. He will stay in England. City and Liverpool can't sign him. Spurs even with CL won't be a big draw. Think it's between us and Chelsea tbh.

i wonder how much of this Rooney attitude is to do with a sense that Moyes would be taking over. If he wants out and is willing to take 150k or less, we should pounce on him. At 220+k, I'd be hesitant

Gary Neville did an interview with Scholes before the match and they were joking about how all the focus will be on Fergie so Scholes can slip out under the radar, Scholes while joking about also mentioned that Rooney had handed in a transfer request.

All the papers will probably link him to Chelsea than us, makes more sense than him joining us.

I don't think it's Moyes related, it's comes from his clear rift with Fergie over the last couple of years culminating in the way Fergie has treated him this season. If anything, the Fergie retirment may mean that Rooney is more likely to stay at United.

I have no doubt Fergie has wanted to get rid since the last contract incident with Man City. But until we gave him RvP, Fergie knew that he was reliant on Rooney and had to keep him. This is the first season he's been free to treat Rooney the way he wants to.

Fergie rates him very, very highly. That's why he fought (and is still fighting and adamant) for Rooney to stay. Ferguson right now has no reason to say "we won't sell" as he's not even the manager any more. It's just that - whether we like it or not - Van Persie is just exceptional and even better than Rooney. That's the only reason Rooney has played a lesser role.

If Fergie rates him so, so highly he would have played him more even with RvP in the team. Welbeck was getting games instead of him, big games. And Rooney is not a player who has to play in RvP's position, he's rarely played there throughout his United career. You just have to look at the way Fergie has used him this season to see something between them is not right.

Well he requested a transfer before all this came out, so I doubt it has anything to do with it. He's a big player with a big ego and I don't think he'd have liked being on the bench in against Madrid or even being taken off.

Same reason I don't think Cesc will be happy at Barca right now.

According to the papers during the week he'd handed a transfer request a few weeks before Fergie announced his retirement and it was rejected. Then he handed in one again the night Fergie announced, before Moyes had been confirmed. He tried to leave before his last contract negotiation too. Must be more going on there than just Moyes coming in thats making him want to leave one of the most successful clubs in the world on wages that wont be beaten anywhere else.
