Nah, its a well known fact in Madrid. Mourinho prefers Benzema anyway, but before he came Higuain got the upper hand.

I guess we'll have to wait and see if we get him first to find out if he can win over a few people. I'd be very disappointed if we don't manage to get a player of his quality considering the fee involved and the fact that he's available to transfer.

higuain is not my first choice, but i'd be very happy if we signed him. much better than giroud and imo the best and realistic striker available out there for us.

Gomez has been prolific but i somehow have never enjoyed watching him play.

Out of Rooney, Gomez and Higuain I think I would choose Rooney (disregarding price, fitness questions). He is premier league ready. I really like Gomez and he is totally available this summer. All of these forwards would be great additions.

Most important thing is to get a forward who can get the most out of this guy next season:

Rooney is the obvious choice but in all likelihood he's not a choice at all. I'd settle for Michu or whoever with quick feet and good off the ball movement. Been giving it some thought and I'm not sure that Higuain would be a hit in this team. The finish is there. The rest of his game is full of question marks though.

Podolski is an odd one. Clearly talented but doesn't seem a good fit with our system. He oesnt feel like an arsenal player to me yet

I don't know, I think he had a much better season than Walcott personally. The problem arises when you play both of them (though Walcott seems to be effective mainly when Podolski is on the field; something he's got in common with Giroud). We need a more fluid attack but the problem seems to be the other two to me. Podolski is a bit technically able too. Cazorla enjoys playing with him for instance. He provides pretty decent defensive cover on the flank as well. Better luck with injuries and partnerships and there is 20 league goals in him next season, easily.

Higuain would probably be as effective and similar to Suarez.

Higuain isn't nearly as good as Suraez when it comes to keeping the ball or dribbling or even pressing and tackling opponents. However, he is a better finisher.

Someone like Ozil or Rues IMO can work with Podolski. They have very good off the ball movement. Ozil is probably one of the best players in terms of finding space/moving off the ball.

1 in 3 chance of this happening now that the Guardian have reported on it 🙂
Ivan indicated that we're waiting on managers to be installed in order to do business.
Kind of excited that this might be true.
