ashley young is the better footballer right now, i think that's obvious to any neutral, but he's 26 and theo's 22. there's a decent possibility that theo at 26 is better than young now.
but of course, the season is played in the present. united did a great job identifying what they wanted, targeting a good player just entering his prime, and wrapping the deal up early in the window. they are also doing a spectacular job of maximising their commercial revenue. gazidis and his team of nutjobs should start taking some notes. i think we're behind them by 40m in commercial revenue every year, which is like buying hazard, benzema, subotic, goetze or eriksen every season. think about that - one top class player every year.
