Don't have to register players as young as Lukaku.

Why did we register Bartley, Lansbury etc. last year and the year before? I thought there was a 'List A' and a 'List B' and the under-21s went on the latter, counting towards the home grown quota? I could be wrong, but I'm sure last year the list we submitted to Uefa had the likes of Tom Cruise, Ignasi Miquel etc. on it.

They did have to register him for the CL. It's not the same as the EPL rules

Chelsea don't have enough homegrown players. Has nothing to do with choice and everything to do with necessity. It was either Mata or Lukaku. You can only register 17 players that aren't homegrown.

Which proved they didn't plan all their signings properly. Still, I think Villas-Boas did a pretty good job with whom they signed this season, especially all the wonderkids.

Watching Ghana play Brazil and have to say, only one team is playing 'brazilian football' and it isn't the blokes in Yellow. Brazil look like an expensive Blackburn rovers.

England are so, so poor. Downing and Young as our wide men and people think we're great? Good players, but you ain't winning European Championships or World Cups with those two starting for you. Ramsey has been decent, but it's an impossible task trying to play as a Number 10 in that team - there's very little quality to make the play for. Cahill has looked good again, shame we couldn't get him.

Szczesny has apparently been insane for Poland tonight against Germany. I think Poland are on the brink of nicking it 1-0 too. Hope there's a YouTube comp of that.

Ramsey just been named Man of the Match. Sweet. He's not been outstanding, but there is so little for him to work with. Some of his passing has been outstanding though.

Full time, 1-0 England. Were passed off the pitch in the second half though. Lucky for them Wales only had Ramsey and Bale with any quality.

We just spanked a very poor Northern Ireland team 4-1 in Tallinn. Beat Slovenia 2-1 on their turf on Friday as well. Great stuff.

Keeping our dreams of qualifying for the play-off alive. Performances like this make me wonder, how the fuck did we manage to lose against Faroe Islands though.

Yep. Wilshere is head and shoulders our best midfielder, light years ahead of even Lampard - who is really starting to look old. The rest are average footballers. Hart and Cahill are two big players for the team now though. We needed them to come through as they have, badly.

Poland-Germany finished 2-2. They're saying on A-M that Szczesny was jaw droppingly good. Save, after save, after save.

Wales were missing two of their best players as well, how depressing is that?

We're just not all that. We needed a Ramsey badly, maybe even a Bale, although he was poor-ish today - but someone with that speed and threat. Jack was a big miss, and I suppose he makes all the difference in midfield, but we just don't have anyone exceptional in the wide areas. Good players, but not top class players - I suppose we haven't since Beckham was in his pomp.

Maybe Chamberlain will be the one?
