Worrying about Arsenal is par for the course.

We can go from battling for the title to scraping 4th place in a matter of weeks.

It's been like this since 2006 but the only thing that bothers me about this season is how lamely we went out of the cup competitions.

When Liverpool and Chelsea are 8th and 5th in the league respectively yet still end up in two cup finals while you got knocked out of everything in February then something is seriously wrong.

Two stupid own goals to get knocked out of the Fa cup and a lame exit to City in the Carling just epitomized our season.

Whatever Wenger does in the summer, whoever he brings in I really don't care. If liverpool with their bog average side can reach two cup finals with the likes of Caroll, Downing and Henderson then we at the very least should make the semis of a domestic cup next season. I'm tired of us throwing it away in the cups because we aren't winning the league and we haven't looked like winning the league in any season bar 2007-08 so Wenger's whole philosphy of resting players for the league campaign and playing fabregas before our CC final who then got injured is looking a bit silly.

Squalkid, Liverpool and Chelsea may as well have 1 cup final appearance between them this year.
Don't forget, we don't care about those cups. They're beneath us. We're winners.

I really don't know YVa. I don't think this team has a win in them without Arteta.

Hoping Blackburn can get a result at WHL, they're an unpredictable bunch so the outcome is hard to predict.

He's obviously blanked the last couple of months from his mind.

The only trophy we seem to care about is the "Qualifying for the Champions League" trophy.

If Wilshere and Van Persie have to drag us kicking and screaming to a cup final next year then so be it, because someone at the club has to be ambitious and want us to win silverware.

I know Wenger wants to win, the man looks like he's having a fit on the sidelines when things aren't going our way but he needs to go all out for the cups next year. I still haven't forgotten the weak team he put in the 2007 final or not playing Arshavin in the semi final against Chelsea.

We had a few losses in us even with him playing too.
Seriously, and I know it's not actually the case, but sometimes it's as if people look for every possible reason as to why we are rubbish and why we will fail - almost like willing the worst to happen.

Kid, progressing in the CL to semis/final is fine with me even if we don't win it. but as far as the domestic cups I'd rather get knocked out in the 1st round that the semis. There is no benefit in saying you reached the semis, you either win it or it's a distraction. At least in the CL you get some dough to pay the bills from progressing. If you get knocked out in the semis of the domestic cups, all you get is tired footballers, fixture distractions, frustration and some little change that can't fuel up the bus for the journey home!

@cos this is a real stat unlike Theo's goals/assists (Sorry I had to edit to get that in :lol🙂 Yesterday was a big blow to my already shaky confidence in the team. We played so well in the 1st half and I was so sure we'd win it but we fluffed our lines again!

Lagos, do you care about winning the FA Cup? Because if you do, progressing is the cost you have to pay. I'd rather see an honest effort that gets us to the semis. This season, of course, that possibly might have put us at risk of failing to attain the one and only Prize

It's the same way in the league, nobody remembers or cares about who finishes 2nd-6th. People will remember who finished 1st. Liverpool finished 2nd in 2002 but nobody remembers that.

But to me reaching the semi finals of the Fa Cup is a lot better than going out early because it shows that we're competing for trophies and that the club wants to win stuff. It's the effort that matters to me and I don't want the club to get knocked out of all the competitions in February and then scrape 4th place when we have nothing else to play for.

At least if we're in the cups we can use that as an excuse for fatigue and poor form in the league. Now with all this time and rest between games we have nothing to hide behind besides our own failings

I do but it's an all or nothing competition. The FA cup is nice, the history, nostalgia and all but let's be real, the FA cup on it's own is losing it's appeal. Every trophy is nice but in today's football, it's the Premiership and the CL that really matter!

Sure, because Theo's goals and assists had nothing at all to do with us not losing those games which featured Arteta?

Forget the Theo stat for a sec, it wasn't relevant to the discussion that was just me being me. We haven't won a game without Ken and I'm not sure that with 2 games left we will, at least not both!
