Bolton are a really poorly coached team.
I think it mostly has to do with the fact that they aren't better than this. It's their real level. The players are mostly lower-table class with a few exceptions and there's little money to reinvest in the squad which is why they have to loan kids from Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. A lot of experts said they were poorly coached under Megson too and then Coyle took over and looked like a saviour. People said he was a tactical genius who was going to reshape the whole club. Now Coyle's getting a raw deal because they haven't produced good enough results for a while. I just think they're in a situation where, no matter what they do or how they play, they're going to come up short in a majority of the games simply because their squad is poor.
Makes it even more absurd that they slapped such an unrealistic price tag on Cahill last summer and then had to settle for £7 million in january just to avoid losing him for free.
