The three players didn't have "equal opportunity to shoot". No way. If Casillas had committed himself on either of the first two "chances" then he would have been an idiot. The first "chance" was from a near enough impossible angle, the second "chance" was not a chance at all because the ball was played behind the striker and a defender was goal-side and all over him, and there was only one spot the guy at the back post was going to try and hit the ball to - and Casillas covered it brilliantly.
Great agility and athleticism, but I think you're overplaying his reading of the game. He threw himself towards the open space and made a great save. There's no more to it than that, for me. Like I said, though, I've had this discussion before about similar saves, and few agree with me, so maybe I don't read it right, but that's how I see it.
