I also imagine that the bigger problem with NFL is the speed at which these players connect with each other. Heading one of these new balls is an easy exercise in comparison. When I grew up, however, there were always some older balls we used in practice. These balls were so hard, you'd close your eyes and hope you missed them during heading drills.
