If teams played against them the way Fulham played against us, I don't think they'd cope. Whenever I see Spurs play, I feel teams don't close to down spaces and the game is a lot more open. In terms of quality and team play/cohesion I genuinely don't think they're better than us.

But they do have a points advantage which is fucking annoying.

Fulham created a ton of chances against Spurs a couple of weeks ago and still lost.

They are, I am sad to say, good enough to beat anybody. They still won´t finish above us.

I'd bet anything that they are going to lose there, no matter if they are in the form of their lives they just do not know how to win at Old Trafford (neither do us but that's another story)

RIP. Literally floored by the news when I switched my computer on this morning. Was kneeling on the ground plugging it in and loaded sportinglife up before getting up expecting to just find out the City-Liverpool result and then could not get up for a couple of minutes. Doesn't appear as though anyone had any idea he was depressed and it seemed he was loving life. Even on TV hours beforehand discussing the future of the Welsh team etc. Just terrible.

For a slightly more upbeat topic that fits in here, do any of you Aussies follow the A League? Always watched the Wellington Phoenix (NZ's only professional club who play in the Australian A League) on TV when I was living in Auckland but I get to most home games now I live in Wellington. I still struggle with the concept of supporting anyone other than Arsenal so not sure I'd say I'm a massive fan yet, but I do own a scarf and do cheer and want them to win when I go. Enjoying finally being able to be a regular matchgoer. Anyway, I went yesterday and it was a good game and a much needed 2-1 win over a Sydney side who included Brett Emerton. Notable players in the league at the moment are Harry Kewell and Brett Emerton who have returned to Australia to presumably finish off their careers. Robbie Fowler was playing the last 2 years but left before this season. Best player for the Phoenix is Paul Ifill who briefly played in the premiership for Sheffield United. For an idea of the league's quality - he is a big class above but was only ever a solid Championship/1st Division/whatever it was called then player in England. The other notable Pheonix player is the goalkeeper Tony Warner who you may remember playing for Fulham a few season ago. Otherwise the team is made up of about half the NZ world cup side plus a few Aussies and foreign journeymen. It's obviously not the best quality football but it is still enjoyable live.

@Invisible I used to follow the A-League (well, the NSL) back in the day, when the Glory first came on the scene. Haven't really paid attention in years, which is a bit shameful.

If I can ever afford to move back to my terrace in central Perth I might start going to the matches at Members Equity Stadium again, see how The Shed is going. I'm stuck down in Fremantle for the time being though.
