Fabregas pulled the strings and as it happens he specialised in little tippy tappy central through balls, so it's normal that our whole style of play revolved around that.

I know that's not what Cesc's reputation was built upon, the point I was making was that he would have the ability to play our current style, that his skills are not limited to to the short passing possesion game.

Wenger chose to construct a specific rigid style around him but he'd just as easily suit our current style. The problem was not with Fab per se it was with Wenger's vision as to how he should be used.

Anyway Spurs and Villa KO soon. Beginning to lose patience with them playing like a half decent team. Villa might upset them, this run of theirs has to hit a brick wall soon.

Neil Warnock comes clean in great towel fiasco after QPR win at Stoke

This was a contest that brought a whole new meaning to the phrase "throwing in the towel". Queens Park Rangers arrived under instruction to demand a towel from the ballboy each time they took a throw‑in, mimicking Stoke City's Rory Delap. Luke Young looked embarrassed about doing so early on in the game, but by the break QPR were making such use of the hosts' linen that the ballboys were sent out empty-handed for the second half.

"You either have the towel or you don't; you can't take them away at half-time because your team are losing. So I went and fetched my own towel," said Neil Warnock, whose coaching staff were chastised by the referee for doing so. When a towel later emerged from the home dugout, the ensuing row ended with the Stoke physio Andy Davies being sent off.

Looking at the Villa line-up, i really have no hopes that they will take anything off Spurs today.

Am i wrong in saying that overall quality of the league has dropped this season?

Villa is currently in 8th and doesn't look to have a team that in other seasons may have been worthy of that spot.

I think a lot of what happens in the top six will come down to head to head.

Villa are starting Hutton in midfield, looks like, to negate the threat from Bale. I still believe that if teams start taking Spurs seriously, sit back as much as they do against us, Spurs will drop a lot of points, right now teams take it to them and don't give them enogh respect which leaves the game open and it suits Spurs. Interesting to see what Villa do tonight seeing how they line up.

I kinda liked him back in 2001. It just seemed impossible for such a big bloke to pass and move the way he did. It fascinated me. That was before he became a battering ram though.

That was criminal from Agbonlahor, by the way. He had a great opportunity to put Bent through one on one with the keeper but he overhit the pass. Spurs defensive line looks suspect.
