15 years ago before everyone started playing with one striker i think Alexis would have been a great off the last shoulder centre forward. His movement and pace are quality, and his finishing is good too.
Alexis Sanchez (Latest: Medical today + Final fee approx 35m GBP)
Please don't go to Tottenham Alexis, that would be such a stupid thing to do.
I'm just not sure about this guy still.
On the one hand, he's quite a tough player and seems ready made for our league, on the other, he just wouldn't be a straight swap for Giroud because he's not made for centre forward. How would we line up if we signed him?
Where theo plays I'd imagine
Really, drop Theo for him? Naaaah.
Theo's actually pretty good these days. Sacrilege I know.

โI know what a player I am. I know Iโm a great player, an ace. I know that I can win matches and even if I donโt score, I remain one of the best in the world. I feel that I am an important player for my national team and also Barcelona where I am very happy.
Had to read to the end of that quote to be sure it wasn't Bendtner.

Sanchez played at 10 when he was great for Udinese didn't he?
Sure, but we have still struggled without someone at least fairly big and tall actually leading the line - properly leading it - in recent years. We end up with poor shape and a total lack of penetration.
It's a testament to the importance of this role to the way we play that even a player as relatively mediocre as Giroud can improve us by slotting in there.

Maybe he would make the team better?
Sanchez is pretty cack on the wing. Playing at 10 he is top, top notch though. Plenty of pace, power, trickery and a good eye for a pass. I'd rather we signed him and had Giroud at point than signing Suarez.

A lot like Chamberlain then?
I didn't watch him at Udinese, he looked great at the World Cup though and seems to be lost at Barcelona, stagnated even may be. Wenger may be the right man to kickstart his career again.
Chambo isn't even remotely close to the level of Sanchez.
I was asking about playing style and strengths.
Do you think he will have the workrate to play in a 3 man midfield because i don't see Wenger reverting to a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1?
I couldn't find a single youtube compilation that shows what this guy can do.

I guess he'd have to play with Giroud - either on the wings or behind him.
Am I right that he's really shit playing on the left?

If he has all those weapons in his game, why is he so incapable when playing on the wing?
Because you can't go both ways and you have less of the ball.
He's not, just think he's a bit better and more comfortable through the middle. Personally, I think if he'd been playing before every team in Europe decided that wing-forwards were the way to go, he'd be a number 9. He makes a lot of great strikers runs and plays off the last shoulder a lot. Seems to be really comfortable in front of goal too.
He is a top player. Seems more likely Barcelona would look to sell him rather than Fabregas.
