Supposedly unhappy at his lack of games, what did he really expect when he went there? He has two defensive midfielders who are better than him and two CBs better than him, one of those DMs can also cover better than him at CB!

Glad we got rid as his indiscipline in midfield used to annoy the fuck out of me but was annoyed we didn't go and use that money to replace him. Were rumours we might take him back and glad Wenger shot those down. If there is any player we should try to bring back it is Cesc, rest I care little about. With Cesc I think it is more a case he doesn't suit their style of play and despite that has managed almost 30 goals and 30+ assists in his two years there.

Yeah, Song was blundering buffoon at times, and used to irritate me too. Glad we got rid of him as such, but at the same time not because we didn't spend.

I think Ramsey works better with Arteta, and I was always a fan of Alex.

It's hard to know what his role was in midfield and as a result we didn't have a functioning midfield.

It's been a terrible move for him but, with perspective, it was worth the risk at the time. Most players have an inflated sense self worth anyway and the worst thing that will happen is that he spent 12 months training with better players, getting paid good money and, when he does leave, he won't have much trouble finding a club because he's already got a few good seasons under his belt.

Even putting footballers egos aside, you've got to look at their level of ambition. It's a step up for him, playing with better players in a more successful club. You can't begrudge a man looking to better himself and test himself at a higher level. I suspect money isn't as high a consideration at the very top levels of the game as it is sometimes made out to be.

what did rvp do? he wasnt going to sign a new contract with us, which is entirely his right, so we sold him. there are only so many possible destinations for elite players like him, and we chose to sell to united. all parties got what they wanted.

if a player is a cunt for not wanting to waste away his career here, winning nothing, and earning less than he would practically anywhere else, then every player worth a damn is a cunt.

thierry henry left for the exact same reasons as van persie, at the same age, to an equally cuntish club.

both left because they were about to pass their prime and it was obvious we were not going to win anything. they wanted domestic and more importantly, european glory at a traditional powerhouse to cement their world standing. they got paid a lot more, too.

van persie should be celebrated for calling out the club's management on their bullshit, not shunned as a pariah. he is one of us. if we feel dicked over by gazidis, kroenke and wenger, imagine being in van persie's shoes.

Going to Barcelona and going to Manchester United are not the same thing. One's a domestic rival that van Persie (of all players) would be aware of. The other club barely has anything to do with us, even if they're run by cunts.

The vast majority of fans would be fine if van Persie pissed off to Barcelona. Not because they're the lesser of the two evils, I'm sure for Espanyol fans Barcelona are the scum of the earth, but at least they're not on MOTD every weekend.

And Henry didn't jump ship at the first chance.

Song left because we didn't want him. He wanted a contract extension. It was a good move for him anyway, he will get a good education at Barcelona both on a tactical and technical level. He'll be better off after this experience.

btw he had a brilliant game against Levante over the weekend.
