Fook yeah sign her up!

Didn't even know she played.

This bloke is a good defender, and thats all that matters.

Liverpool are losing Carragher and i wouldn't be suprised if Skrtel is moved on too so i expect Rodgers will want Williams and he'll go there

Poor gal. Saggy tits at such a tender age.

They're just small. That's a B cup if I've ever seen one and the framing is making them look saggy because B cups come without cleavage.

Small and saggy. Poor gal.

I'd be very happy if we signed Williams. Solid defender, knows his job and having a really good season. This is the sort of signing I'd like to see us make more of (obviously along with the mega signings).

How many centre backs have we signed in the past few years? 5?

I actually think he's a very good player, plenty of experience, captain at Swansea and good on the ball. Also coming into his peak years as a footballer.

I give it two years before we wreck him completely.

Stop boobing the thread, Rex.

Smile bowls me over every time. Another plus point is that she almost killed RVP, and used to date Commander Shepard.

And making a tit of yourself.

is he arsenal standard? like tony adams, sol campbell calibre? i honestly just dont care about anyone who's not unbelievably good. we have so many role players, we need to blow our wads on 1-2 guys, not pennypinch our way to more 8m signings of limited players. this guy isn't going to enter our dressing room on his first day and command respect.

your question should be are Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Monreal and Gibbs all Arsenal quality? most of them are. the coaching is the issue. look at how solid Dawson/Vertonghen looked against us. are they any better than the players above?

Have to stop you there, Dawson/Vertonghen did not look solid and hasn't looked solid all season, not moreso than anything we have thrown up anyway. Lloris, however, has been class since winning is place.

Has he done this before? I think he has if mammary serves me correctly.

Yep - I remember saying we should have got him. Better keeper than Szcz even if the Pole still has a way to go in years...

Irregardless, players don't come off shelves marked 5M 10M 20M etc, different types of players respond and preform better under different coaches and systems, some the seem unremarkable can suddenly shine while others who come with a glittering revue turn to dust.
Myself I don't expect anything of any player that now comes here- I have no faith in Wengers coaching or system.

Admit I am wrong about Lloris. He made some huge blunders for Lyon at that time when we were linked with him and Szczesny was good for us. We should have just splashed 10m on him and get settled on the goalie front for the next decade.

Vertonghen was another huge miss for us. Really an excellent signing for 8m. His passing and composure from defence would have helped us loads, not to mention his versatility

😆

I'm sorry.. But This was so bad.

😆 Missed that one - haven't been keeping abreast of this thread.

😆 Thats a nice touch on international womens day.

5 days later

Yeah, I think it's breast if we nipple this in the bud.

Dailymail reported the same.

I agree with Tambourine Man, but there is very subtle differences between the 2 currently. Furthermore...

Orbinho ‏@Orbinho 23m
Ashley Williams made a Premier League high 52 defensive blocks. The whole Arsenal team made 89 last season.

Orbinho ‏@Orbinho 22m
Williams also made a league high 381 defensive clearances last season.

Only seen very little of him, Wales, for the national team he has looked a bit ropey but ok for Swansea. I think we need more a Rio type player with good pace rather than another big strong CB which the impression I get of him when watching him. If only Per had more pace.....

😆 "Defensive blocks", what about aerial duels?

Not sold on williams. Reid or papadopoulos.

60k a week is a bit steep. I'm not sure he'll be a great success.

Williams is quite similar to Vermaelen in style in that he's a last ditch type defender who's more reactive than proactive which supplements Chico Flores in style. That's why I feel he'd supplement Koscielny as well. He also shares some leadership qualities with the Belgian although there have come question marks over the latter's after him getting the armband. However, he also has the exact same height as Vermaelen so isn't very tall for a central defender (6 ft) - especially when you put him alongside Koscielny, we're going to lack height in the side against the Stokes and Sunderlands of this world.

At the start of the season I thought Williams looked poor. His fumbling with ball resulted in a couple of embarrasing goals for the opposition and in general his passing leaves a lot to be desired so Vermaelen has a definitive edge on this front, I feel. However, as the season progressed you have to say that Williams was one of the best CBs in the league during the mid part of the season.

All in all I think he'd be a like for like replacement for Vermaelen but he lacks experience at the top level, he's not getting any younger so there's not a lot of room for improvement and his passing is quite poor but you can say the same about Mertesacker's so it would be a gamble. But if he would be content with being the 3rd choice defender, I think it's worth a gamble.

As for the reported fee. £12m is having a laugh. Wenger's highest ever transfer fee was £15m ffs!

I like N'Koulou as well but haven't watched him enough to form a proper opionion. Was a beast when we played Marseille a couple of seasons ago. He's getting very mixed reviews though. Some think he's the second coming of Desailly and some think he's whiny and error prone.

Captain wrote:

Agreed.

He might be good for now, but he is already 28 and 10m is abit steep for him considering.

Schalke only want 15m for Papadopoulos. Its looking like Wenger wants more PL experience.

Means he doesn't have much top seasons left in him.

About 4? Which would probably be the length of his contract. I don't think there's a problem with his age.
