While i agree with your points, i see it differently. We were linked with him a lot in 2011-12 and at that time it was rumored that we scouted him heavily. His injury was a virus, not exactly a damage or anything.

Plus all reports indicate he is a potential talent. He is 20 and if available for less than 5-7 million pounds i can arsene being interested.

Yeah but the virus kept him our for 6 months and hampered development at a key time in his career. He's 20 and would he be of any use to us? We probably scout 1000's of players heavily each year in every corner of the globe. Any decision of spending money by the club has to be backed up by intensive scouting and reports. We're already bringing in a young prospect in Sanogo. We're likely bringing in another senior striker. That leaves us sufficiently well covered for every competition. If this guy is even half decent City will have no obligation financially to or will sell to us. It's not happening and in any case spending significant money (and 5-7m is significant) on the basis of 6 months in the eredivise is a massive massive gamble. Money has to be spent in about 5 other positions before we can start even thinking about youth signings like these.

22, everyone wants him, but he's on loan in Norway. Yeah...

We have supposedly had a bid rejected for Marc-Andre Ter Stegen according to AS

Really? Surprising! Didn't think that we'd move for a young keeper.

I have on good authority that two Premier League clubs (one apparently being Arsenal) are interested in West Ham's centre-back Winston Reid

Winston Reid?

Isn't he DoF at Monaco or something? Why is he lowering himself to John Cross levels?

Nearly 20 years in the football industry in various capacities (chief scout, sporting director, CEO) - currently independent advisor and opinionista

So sez his twitter profile.

Nah, he's a centre half at West Ham. Keep up Arms.

do we have any serious links to serious players?
would love it if Wenger could just sign something like Rooney and Bender in the next two weeks and then go on vacation.

Winston Reid is pretty good to be fair.

Won't mind Reid as a fourth choice defender, but, any player from Premier League would cost a lot once a big club gets interested.

We don't want to get fleeced like Liverpool were with Downing, Adam and Henderson.

They have also shown us how 70 million "war-chests" can be spunked in a transfer window and may make zero improvements to the team.
