Didn't someone point out few pages back that Jovetic is great at holding up play?
He is. His 1st touch is brilliant, pass him the ball from anywhere and he'd kill it in an instant and either play an intelligent pass to one of his teammates or turn his marker the wrong way and accelerate past him. For a team that plays the passing game(in a 4-3-3), quality 1st touch, close control, passing ability and mobility are the most important attributes for a CF to have IMO. The likes of Theo(pace merchant) or Drogba(a giant with a dodgy 1st touch and average close control) will never be the CF of say a team like Barca. I won't be shocked to see Gotze play that role for Bayern next season.
@[deleted] They've long abandoned their 3-5-2, it was somewhere half way through the season and have never looked back; results have been better and the football has been brilliant(the best in Italy). Cuardado is now playing as part of a front 3(with Jovetic and Ljajic), they have a flat back 4 and a midfield 3 of Pizzaro, Aquilani and Borja. It is a proper 4-3-3 with better passing and movements than we've shown this season. It's actually farcical they didn't qualify for the CL. I had the Fiorentina game on stream and the Milan game on tv this past weekend and I still can't beleive what I saw in those last 15 minutes in the Siena vs Milan game. The Italian league is still very corrupt.
By the way; Jovetic is no Drogba but he's more powerful than most think. I saw him outmuscle Van Buyten for his goal against Bayern few seasons ago.
