No chance the bid is 30m euros though.
Jovetic
I think it's a lot less too. Transfer sums aren't usually that huge in Italy.
I just can't see how the formation will work without someone who can hold up the ball. None of the solutions people have come up with look very pleasing to me. Jovetic can't do it, Higuain can't do it, Podolski doesn't look like he can do it. Only leaves Giroud. And Giroud is the one player we positively have to upgrade this summer. I can't figure out what our plan is here.
he's certainly a player to get bums off seats but he'll frustrate during his adaptation period.
rumours are that negotiations have been ongoing for a while now - bound to be a structured deal with a few contingencies
bet we end up handing over about £21m when all is said and done

Tata Samphire.
30m euro is what his agent said was his transfer clause a couple of months back:
"And with plenty of Europe's biggest clubs likely to be interested in the 23-year-old at the end of the season, representative Fali Ramdani has claimed that there is no need to increase his client's current £26 million buy-out trigger.
"A new clause with Fiorentina? There is already one valid at €30m [£26m], and we won't change that," Ramdani told Gazzetta dello Sport."
That's not to say it is the amount we will pay, just where that figure has come from.

Think we'll go for another striker but we won't rush it and go with Giroud/Podolski again if needs be.
30m euros = £26m...How the mighty have fallen. Do they take monopoly money instead?

Another striker aside from Jovetic or another striker altogether?
I'm still angry that we didn't even get involved with Llorente.
Wow super excited!! Hope this get done quickly so we can concentrate on other targets.
Jovetic can hold up the ball very well, not by outmuscling defenders ala Drogba, but in a similar way Tevez, Aguero, Van Judas etc do. He's not a counter attacking striker like say Theo or Poldi, he's got excellent close control and very good dribbling ability. You just have to watch the type of football Fiorentina play with him as the focal point of their attack - easily the best in Italy.
Wilshere-Santi-Jovetic :drool::drool::drool:
Secretly hoping we put in a bid for Tevez too.
I'm starting to believe.

He's slower than Giroud isn't he...
Regardless of how good he is, I honestly feel that all strikers need some pace.
He isn't slow.

Me too.
Add Higgy and a DM and it'll be a good summer.
Tancredi is very reliable. Trust him when he says we have bidded to release Jovetic's clause. Its abit expensive but ultimately he will be worth it. A great talent. Getting excited. Remember when Fiorentina said we failed to get Jovetic 2 seasons ago in the summer? We have been interested ever since.

Higuain is better so we can still make up for it.

Jovetic plus one. Another signing over £20m...
I'm excited by Jovetic but I can't help but thinking that 8 years ago when we went for 'youth' these were the young talents that we should have been looking out for.
breaking our transfer record at the start of the window is a nice way to kick off our 'big summer'.

The ones that cost 26m? would have defeated the purpose no?

a) It would not have cost 26m in 2006.
b) High sell on value
c) We did it with Reyes
